LEX Keyword Search

Would it be possible to add a LEX keyword search to the search page?
all it would have to be is a textbox (and a separate button if easier) that runs a script that will open a google page that searches for "site:http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/", and the script appends the contents of the textbox to the end of the search.

It would be better than the no keyword search we have at the moment.

I had a grease monkey script that did this but know with the new checkbox and alphabetical creators(thanks sooo much for that) it doesn't work

I do have to honestly give a kudos who ever re arranged the creators search list to be alphabetized...

Yes, I quite agree, that was well done; thank you Jeroni!  The addition of the "exclude locked files" checkbox deserves a round of applause, too.

If Colyn didn't have any issues with it, I am sure I could hack together a search function for you. I do asp.net development at work, but I should know enough php to get the job done.

Jeroni, couldn't you just modify the google custom search at the top of forums only search the LEX?
Because at the moment it searches the entire internet, which is very pointless, as the actual google is there to do that.

Or if you can add a checkbox to include locked items, can't you add a textbox that will do a search using google (not custom search) with "site:www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex" prefixed in the search?

Very nice, not meaning to be ungrateful,
but I tried using google CSE and it wouldn't search in the page titles? So a lot less results come up for some reason, even though the lot title is on the page as well.
Try searching normal google for
"site:sc4devotion.com/csxlex power"(88 results)
and
search power in the CSE box on the LEX.(4 results)

But it's a step in the right direction, thanks very much!!!!! No matter how my part of this post above sounds it's much better to have this search than none at all.

Well, I cant control the way the CSE works internally. If you can tell me the way to solve this, I'd really appreciate it.

I have loked for one but can't find it, only found people trying to turn off searching in the page titles, so there must be an option somewhere, or maybe it's the way the LEX is made(as in there's not an individual page for each lot is there, a template page and then the info is brought onto that or something)?

I just wish it showed the thumbnails. Can't make google do that unfortunately.

The LEX pages are created on the fly. They do not exist elsewhere besides in a database. I dont think Google can index databases.... yet... but perhaps a site map tool could help to create an index for it... I'll try to investigate further.

You did a great job on it.  I just did a search for a lot that I could not remember who made it, and only remembered the name and it found it.
