OK every one I'm gonna be taking that plunge here since my CJ flopped like a dead fish over
at anther site. I've decided to give it a go here with the help of everyone that is very
supportive i think. My plans to start is just show what I've been tinkering with then after
with help from y'all i then want to actually change this over to a story MD?

Ok now with out more blabbling on from me here is a couple more shots i did since i last posted.
I had just wanted to get my feet wet first to get a feel of how everything would be.
In these next 4 shots is of the stream that you see some what flowing from the rockie area.
Then of course since my MD will be based around a mill that was done by OP4,
i figured that it would be nice to work around it a little bit and as i said before im open
to any ideas to how to make this work better.  thanks - pat

Maybe it is on 100,200

I'll go with cristism, I hope you'll take it positive as it means to be (positive)
about the last 4 shots, have you tried some plopable water ? because with peg pond you'll always end in a 90° angle river and as you put rocks around it, the rocks line too much IMO
I will also put much more trees all around ( if your CPU and RAM are ok ) because it is a wood processing mill.

The water fall effects  as well as the junction with the bay is very good, looks like rapids

Wondering about realism...... where does the water come from.... ?¿ I see it falling in both sides of the hill....

On the other side, I must say that after so long time, there are still new ideas going on. I see some innovative ideas here, and with some more details, I am sure we will see a good piece of SC4 here 

My only suggestion: Dont hurry. Take your time. Dont hesitate to bulldoze as many times as necessary  until you are satisfied with what you got

I have to agree with Wouanagaine (I would certainly never disagree for fear he might smite me with his powers ) that, as much as I love Peg's stream and ponds, it does look a tad too contrived?  Maybe less rocks or changing the size of the stream or something?  (Oh, and tell Jeronij that there is a artesian well in the stream that makes it flow both ways!)

@ Wouanagaine:  LoL i get it now lol im a little slow lol,  when i was in god mode i had the area lined with trees and
then poof they started to disappear on me when i started with the city.  I will though how ever put trees back in
after i remember how to bring in god mode again lol.  Thank you about noticing the rapids i wasnt to sure if it turned out.
To do with the ploppable water just line it with rocks but not to much?  just making sure i understood?  i will post some more pics with the river redone and see if i gotten it then.

@ Jeronij:  Yea what Vicki said its an artersian well in the stream that is allowing it to flow both ways lol,
actuley i didnt catch that until after you pointed it to me thanks.  I plan on taking my time cause i want to build
into a city that aint just randome and without thought.  A real City Planner is what im trying to achieve, before i can actuly
go into doing a Story Based MD.

hello pat. nice start! i want to learn how to be a good sim city planner, too.  (if anyone can help, im all ears[or eyes?]) anyway, the river looks a little to 90 degrees but those rocks and flora lining it are awesome. would you mind sharing a link to it? thanks and good luck with your MD

Well if suggestions and criticism are what you want, then I am happy to help (don't worry, I'll keep it nice). First off, I doubt your 1st cj really flopped like a dead fish (since dead fish just kind of sit there...bad joke), but you are doing quite better than those who (like me) have not yet started one. Your pics look good and in addition to the other suggestions already offered, I would add that the edges of your river banks seem a bit uniform. I like the touch with the rocks, but they seem to hold the same pattern all the way along the river. Perhaps stagger them or add some buldges in areas (there are very few...if any... 90 degree angles in nature). Good start, and keep it up.

you should try a MD or CJ its kinda fun exscpeicaly that since when there are great people here willing to help
out and give a good critizism.

Ok everybody as it was suggested and i took it to heart big time and i did it so with out much to do here is
the new river and hopefuly i got it right as what wouanagaine was talking about and btw i did figure out the
god mode trick lol ctrl, alt, shift and then click on god mode menu.
These images are not altered in anyway shape or form as im saving it for when getting into the story lol

Pic 1:  Here we are seeing the mouth of the river at the bay flowing into West Shore Bay.



Pic 2:  We are seeing some rapids by the Mill and part of the water fall and temp devolpment.



Pic 3:  We are now seeing a better shot of the Water fall and some of the mill along with a little Devolpment that is temp.

Wow pat, that is really an impressive update. The river is much more natural this way !
I like the fact you put wood on the water, good for realism.

Yes Pat, much better, still just a tad heavy handed with the rocks and flowers along the edges for my taste (maybe fade them out then in again?) but much more 'natural' looking!  The other thing that bothers me is the 'points' on the island, if the stream/river is running so strongly as to have rapids wouldn't the 'points' be worn away from the rush of the water (unless this is a very 'young' stream/river?)

It sure does suck when a  CJ is a total flop, I mean we've all been through that (I have anyway!)

But really, this is very good, I can't see why it wouldn't be popular on that other site. Keep it up and people will support you. If you keep updating for better or worse, eventually it will pick up.

thanks for the sorchin rocks! they rock!  that was corny  thats a very good improvement from those 90 degree rivers you started out with. and as mentioned, you may have used sorchin's rocks and flora a little too much? just a thought. will be watching for the next update! good luck and thanks again

Wow awsome im soooo happy about the support here i thank each and every one of y'all.

Ok I've noticed that maybe the rocks are a little to much.  What i was wondering any ideas what else i could use
to line the river with?  I do like the wildflower patch on the island.  I'm open to any idea's on that.

pointing, now that is a good question ummm i thinking its a young river cause of the mill coming in they had to do some
devolping of the river to help the logs move?
