I do know basic HTML coding.  %wrd  &Thk/(

But I'll do that then. I also know MS Word screws up HTML by adding strange and unnecessary tags.  &mmm

M4346

Ah well, I updated the Readme Template with Wordpad. Ugh! All those little numbers and tags!  %wrd But at least it worked!  ;D

I'm not ready to switch over to Notepad / Wordpad HTML editing just yet though.  :P

M4346

If you'll look closer at the Thomaskirche in the Park images, you'll see that there are indeed people walking around. I just caught the LOT at a bad time. :P

Some background info about this AMAZING Church that I just LOVE, because I LOVE Bach! ;D

The St. Thomas Church – A Place of Faith, Spirit and Music

There are many important churches in the world. However, the St. Thomas Church is special - a place of unique spiritual heritage and musical creativity.
For almost 800 years, the church has been housing the famous St. Thomas Boys Choir. In the St. Thomas Church, Martin Luther lectured, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart played the organ, and Richard Wagner was baptized. Without a doubt, however, it was the life and work of Johann Sebastian Bach that influenced the atmosphere and reputation of the St. Thomas Church most thoroughly.
Nevertheless, it is not only the music that attracts visitors from all over the world. The church also offers fascinating, centuries-old architecture.

The St. Thomas Church was included as the one and only German building in the World Monuments Fund between 1999 and 2001. In short, this church is an important piece of European cultural heritage, which is worthy of being preserved.

Saint Thomas Church (Leipzig)
History

There has been a church at the current site of the Thomaskirche since the 12th century. After several reconstructions (remains of an earlier Romanesque church were found during archaeological excavations), the current building, an example of Gothic architecture, was consecrated on 10 April 1496 by the Bishop of Merseburg. The reformer Martin Luther preached here in 1539. Today, it is a Lutheran church.

The tower was first built in 1537 and reconstructed in 1702, leading to its current height of 68 m. The roof above the vaulted ceiling is one of the steepest in Germany, with a roof pitch of 63 degrees.

After the destruction of the Leipzig Johanneskirche in World War II, the remains of Johann Sebastian Bach were moved from there to the Thomaskirche in 1950. The current altar, installed in 1993, is the former Gothic altar of the Paulinerkirche, the university church of the University of Leipzig, destroyed in 1968 by the Communist authorities.

Hello M,

I didn't know you do such interesting things!

The Thomaskirche is beautiful by itself, but your modification is an excellent idea!
I think if any BAT is unique and should be plopped at specially prepared place (for example church, castle, but also many civic buildings), the best thing it's creator can do is to make the lot "open", to enable adding something - park pieces, alleys, trees etc. and customize the surrounding , but keeping it consistent. I hope my English skills are enough to be clear  ;)

I must look at all your thread, it is worth of it!

M,

That's one heck of a lot. I agree with Ennedi, what you do really helps with making the structure fit in with the city.

Cheers,

Thank you very much!  ;D Yes, I understand what you mean, and now that you mention it (and force me to look at it from that perspective) it does make sense!  It adds a sort of modular air to it.  $%Grinno$%

Thanks Pat, you make me blush! :P  ;D

I did look at Google Earth images of the Church, but my LOT does look a bit, if not a lot, different from the original.  $%Grinno$% But then again, you don't get BSC Parks in real life.   :D

Thanks for stopping by!  ;D

Now, before I hit the books and study for my International Law test tomorrow, I want to show you the updated and revised base and overlay textures for the NHP LBT Plaza Mall. The version I am lotting is a 15 x 20 CS$$5 growable with more or less 8 000 jobs.

I hate functional ploppable buildings, they are just not for me, and therefore I decided to create this growable (which is still a work in progress). I want to thank Heblem for this amazing Mall while I'm at it, it is really gorgeous!

Click on each image for an enlarged (1000 x 800 px +) image. And please let me know what you think of the general layout.  ;D Cars, CP's Semiseasonal Oak Trees, people and other props that enhance the aesthetic appeal and realism of the LOT will be added next.  ;D

I'm still working on the other projects listed previously, but like to vary it off now and then to avoid the onset of boredom with a specific set of LOTs.  :)

So, until Saturday then! Thanks for stopping by!

I know it's been a bit quiet around here, but I can assure you it's not because I have been lazy.  :P Thank you Strechnitz and Pat for your comments, they are always appreciated.  ;D

Growable CS$$ Subway, by M4346

Originally created by daddyo117272 over at Simtropolis, I've remodded and relotted Subway to be a CS$$ growable.

We got our first Subway in Hatfield, the suburb I live in in Pretoria, South Africa, this year and was surprised to find this 'fast food' joint lacking in SimNation. I was incredibly happy to see it released and just had to make it functional.

Please ensure that you have the necessary files (use the included Cleanitol ™ file for a less stressful endeavour) and enjoy!

Attached below. ;)

Great lot, M. I, too, I had thought about the lack of Subway not too long ago.

So Subway is a new thing in Pretoria? Its the most common restaurant in the United States, you find them in many gas stations. Its because they only require standard electricity (120v 60hz is the standard here) and doesn't have a fryer.

Cheers,
Kevin

Thank you Heblem!

Kevin, Subway opened its first branch in South Africa in 1997 and currently has only 9 restaurants here, of which two are in Pretoria (That I know of. :P) The one here (in my suburb) is in the Hatfield Square (where all the bars and drinking places are :P) which is just up the road from here.

More info: Subway SA

I've loved it since my first introduction to it!  ;D I don't think it's that popular in South Africa because of it's 'self-help' nature. I mean, yes, they make it for you, but you have to pick what you want every step of the way. We South Africans are not used to that. We just want a set menu with a good old Beef Burger, etc. from Wimpy, MacDonalds or Steers:D

Thank you for stopping by and for the extra info!

M, very nice work on the Subway.  I just saw that BAT the other day and rather liked it, so I'm really glad to see a fellow NHPer make such a nice lot for it.   Looking at your other lots here, it seems to me you really have this lotting thing down.
