Matt, these FAR BATs are incredible - I hardly ever use FAR roads and with your buildings alone, I have started.

I actually have a question though, not related to your structures at all, but to the roads themselves. How do you get sidewalks along your FAR roads with plopped buildings? Mine keep populating grass and not sidewalk textures. The only time I get sidewalks is if the adjacent zones are medium to high density.

I realize this was a while back, but your opera house BAT reminds me so much of the old NYPD headquarters, a FAR structure in-itself  :)

Call me Warren.

mattb325

Thanks all!

the nypd hq is a beauty.

As for the sidewalk mods, I'm hopefully not going to send you down a rabbit hole as I have had this one for wide-area curves for almost 10 years and I think it is this one by NEKO:

A new one is released:

I love this little building.  :)
It can fit easily in modern neighborhoods and also in a kind of old center town renovated, actually pretty versatile.  &apls &apls &apls
I will have no problem seeing him grow often!
The parking will be for sure an essential for our FAR streets, and thanks for the 2 wonderful museum also.

Thanks manga rivotra!  :)

Another one is released. The Nat Geo Headquarters.

hey... getting off tehbleakin' fence to say something

last several releases -since last comment, are grand additions to my cities

really like the Museums... hoping perhaps for a SC4D museum that looks neat and not so neat due to its addition aimed at being in vogue but missed the taxpayers mark [rumors abound that city hall mayor may have ....]

anyway, love teh work and greatly appreciate ypur sharing 'em all with us...

sure hope that whatever funk Simmer2 is in is short lived -prayers for his well being and Fred too [as I am waiting for his stuff and that 'ther guy'] to begin farm lotting... hopefully I can do that well....

so some of your work and his rust belt Railroad stuff can happen in time for the NAM release which I cross fingers for an Easter spring release...

okay not much else to add or brilliant say...  :)   aside from architectural studies your models make for me...    ;)

Uh la la! Speed dating with beautiful bats, eh?

And me, I can't decide. I want to have phone numbers of them all. You turn me into a faithless bat casanova! I'm unable to love this or that one. I love them all - tall, tiny, flat, elegant, rustic ... and super sexy.

mattb325

Thanks guys

I couldn't help myself....I made a start on the NYPD Headquarters. It won't be a recreation, but it should be pretty accurate....it's like Harrods all over again. This represents approx an hour or so....considering most bats take that from start to finish, this one isn't speed dating  :P

An hour?....lol.....would take me a week....

Nice start, like seeing the developments from time to time..

Thanks Fred  :)

Embarrassingly little progress made on the police station (I really haven't felt like batting):

But I have released the Casino. It has two lot versions (temperate and tropical) so you can only have one lot file version at a time. The casino has also been modded to not be as bad as the Maxis one in terms of ratings/crime etc, but it is still balanced. I imagine it would be quite useful to place early on in a city's life while you are trying to pay for services, get population growth etc.

Oooooh..... Casino! YEEEAAHH!!!
I loves Sim City forever!

mattb325

Thanks AsimPika3172

Slowly, slowly.... so fiddly.

Many historians blame the dramatic increase in New York crime on the fact that it is taking me so long to bat this  ?=mad)=

Hi Matt!

The Casino is superb, thank you for sharing it, and I love the Nat Geo Hq as well. It will fit perfectly into w2w urban areas.
Also the new Police Hq looks promising  &apls &apls

Thanks!

Thanks fantozzi and tyberius06  :)

A small amount of progress on the NYPD Bat. Still details to add on the dome and of course walls+roof.
In real life, the NYPD HQ is angled about 5 degrees. (far3 = 18.4; far2 = 22.<something>) So I am going to square off the back and release it as an ortho. Maybe I'll do a diagonal & far version as well depending on render times. This render took 3mins on my old machine, so it's no big deal so far, but we'll see once the proper glass + reflections etc go in.

In the mean time, the residence apartments are released:

Love those apartments! Looking forward to the NYPD BAT as well. It looks gorgeous so far!

Oh ... wow. I love the emerald green light shining throught the upper windows falling and limewashing the floor in this strange almost surreal light in combination with the clear shaped orange blinds. Creates a classy, almost weightless atmosphere, a modern classic. And then the nightlights, mellow, with the detailed shading giving depth and space.

Imho you are a great composer. If you do fictional buildings they are full of atmosphere and life, nicely arranged, music for the eyes. I'm totally convinced. You can do this more often: this kind of jazz-like architecture.

Thank you!

PaPa-J

The apartments are stunning, love them.  The NYPD building is coming along nicely, keep going.
Lighten up, just enjoy life,
smile more, laugh more,
and don't get so worked up
about things.

Thanks belfastsocrates, fantozzi and papa-j.

I futzed around with the FAR-3 station and got the nitelites to show up on all rotations....oh the dark art of batting and modding. A true PITA , but I guess that comes with the territory when making the first FAR-3 station ::)

The diagonal version is still being futzed..... :angrymore:

With all of the futzing and conjuring, I decided to make the FAR-3 station also act as a subway and bus stop as well....

Happy grid breaking....
