texturing and lightning takes the most of the time ...

96 Spring Street
(New York)

the original is a bit shorter ...

modeling was done in sketchup 6

rendering was done in cinema 4d

for now it's a landmark

would like to have it as a commercial as well ...

... and as a growing one of cource!

that is my first bat then ...  %confuso

i'm happy for any suggestions and opinions ...

moin guys,

thanks for stoping by ...
worked with sketchup and render programms before, so i got kind of base_knowledge ...
thanks to you anyway ...  :-[

my next project is gonna be a building of new york, as well ...  %BUd%
it's on the corner of 5th avenue to w 13th street,
i think the number is 72 5th avenue.

image is from google earth.

i choose it because of it's raster of almost 16 to 32 meters ... it's the easiest i guess.
if somebody has better pics of the building or any suggestions, please don't hesitate ...

moin everybody,

thanks ...
here is the progress i've made so far with 72 5th Avenue.  %BUd%
it is not finished yet, as you can see there are no textures and there is still a bit of detailing to do.
i still have no entrance and there is no stuff on the roof.

my question though is whether the groundfloor is to flat - it seems that the 2 floors above are to mighty ... ?

thanks for your suggestions

Just stumbled across this forum. Very Nice! As to your question, I don't think the bottom floor is too flat, The upper floors break up the building a bit. In my opinion it looks nice.

Gaston

Excellent building.   As to wether it is "too flat"?    It seem that the street level is a bit repetative looking.      Perhaps a bit to break up the sameness of the windows is warrented.

thanks ... !

gaston: i've changed the groundfloor a bit, so its more variation in it ...
after all it looks slightly different than the original ...

done a bit of detailing and put things on the roof, as well.
some textures too, but still working on those ...

ArkenbergeJoe

Hi

Gaston

I do indeed think it looks much better after the changes.    Great work so far.
