WOW!!! Fantastic, really fantastic work, Robin!!!
Great updates my friend!!!

rooker1

Thanks everyone for stopping by and giving me some advices.  I have been keeping them all in mind and this is what I have come up with tonight.  I'll do replies in the next day or so.

Another good friend mentioned to me on MSN that I should show my work.  ;)

Now remember that I did already hand terraform this map myself, so with that said this is where I started tonight.
And yes I know the grid is on, these are working pics, not finished work. ;)

Had to throw in the rough work for the rail line.  But as you can see I didn't like the area very much as it now look much different than the first pic.

Still some fine tuning here and there, but I think I like this over all shape of the land.  What do you all think?
Next I'll add in the rocks, water flora and some more trees along the water's edge.

And this is where I'll end off for tonight.  It's time for bed, the wife is calling. ;)

See you all later,
Robin  ;)
Call me Robin, please.

Interesting process pics Robin, and I should really post here more often. Your last update was quite well done. That little spit of land on the right hand side, extending out into the water looks great. One of the things I'ver noticed that is difficult, is getting smooth curves at water level with game water. Usually the water will go at a 45 degree diagonal, like you can see just to the left of that outcrop. Also, blending the trees in a bit more (it seems there's a distinct, sudden change from the leafy green stuff by the water fall to the pines on the outcrop) would help with the visual flow of the picture. It's not bad now, but I think that could help improve it. Anyway, you know the rest of my thoughts already.

In regard to the current bridge though, it may just be a matter of symmetry, but the offset pillar there looks a bit odd like that. Is there a reason you placed it like that?

Looking forward to see where this goes.

I like the terraforming you've done Robin, it looks great, and very rugged.

Thanks everyone that took the time to stop by and commment for the last few updates, it's really appreciated.

Trying to perfect something is very difficult, but this is my attempt at some of the suggestions I have recieved from posts here and some conversations I have had with a few friends over MSN.

First you didn't like the the slope of the rail line.  There were a few bumps here and there, so I destroy it and lay down some road to smooth out the area.

Sometimes the slope modd makes a little dip down in the ground and that needs to be fixed.  I have done this by adding in a few road tile moving towards the slope until the dip is gone.

Destroy the road tiles and relay the rail line.  Ahhhhh, that looks much better now.

More of the raail line until it goes off this medium size tile.  I have left on the grid to make it easier to see that there is a steady drop in slope, but it is hard to see as I seem to have done a very nice job in making it very smooth and gradual.

Now for the bridge, or more specifically the bottom of the water fall and it's depth.  I have had a few critiques saying that the bottom should be deeper, so let's work on that.  Now this is going to hurt a little......destroy that bridge.....

Ouch!

I make the bottom of the falls a little deeper by using the shift key and the number keys to control the strength of the hole tool.  I think I am getting pretty efficient with this now.

At the same time I also concave the top of the water fall and add some rocks back in again.

Replace the bridge again and reconnect the left rail line......

......connect the other side.  Now I don't like the ridge on the right side and how the water is falling.

Reterraform the right hand ridge.....opps destroyed the rail line.

Hmmmmm, a little better, so I add some flora and rocks back in.

A few pics to show how everything looks from different angles.

Another.....

I think this one might be one of my favourite angles.  What do you think?

Same angle, but a little lower and to the right a bit.

I think this one might be Matt's (threestooges) favourite angle. ;)

Close up.

Now for a few night shots.

This bridge was so fitting for this scene/area.  Just look at the details that were put into making this model, it really looks like someone laid this bridge by hand.

Zoom out a bit.

A little further down the shoreline to the west.

And one last over view.

I hope you enjoyed those pics.

The improvements you have made really make the difference.  This looks so so much better  &apls &apls
Not easy getting the slope right for the railway but you have done it marvellously 10/10 for that alone

I admit that I was very impressed with your first effort but these pics look so......... good that even I would be hard pressed to do
what you have done.

More please - lots more of this     pretty please :D :D
