I loved "DA" but understand the need to start over sometimes so best wishes for success on Walker's Island. Looking forward to seeing how it develops.

Until next time...

Russell

That preview is stunning, and, as so many others so often write, I'm looking forward for more.

By the way, you show extremely good taste naming a region after Karen Walker  ;)

Strechnitz

Well what can I say? that preview leaves me hungry for more as always :)

So good to know that I'm not the only one enjoying Karen Walkers extravaganza. simply hillarious!
What offer could she not refuse? ;)

Strechnitz

kimcar

Sorry to hear about Durewan Antilles, urban, but I'm definitely looking forward to seeing Walker's Island--especially from what I've seen in the preview shot. I'll be looking forward to this!

@nova vesfalo: Thanks for visiting. Yeah, I finally started using the lot editor.
It takes a long time but improving the mansion sorroundings makes a lot of fun.

@Joan: It was really time to start over, thanks for your understanding and your support.

@Russell: Karen walker is one of the best characteres
that has ever been reated for televison (next to Phoebe Buffay from Friends).
Thanks for coming around so often.

@Strechnitz: I'm glad you enjoy my MD so much and there will be more...

@kimcar:Thanks for your support, I hope I won't disappoint anyone of you...

@thundercrack: Thanks for visiting!

Josiah's Bay

The first Update is going to be about Josiah's Bay, a vacation and residental area.
It is located at the same-named Bay in the Island's south.

View on the Bay with some Beach Houses.
Those Houses are within the most expensive and most controversial houses
on the Island, since the fragile beach woods had to be cleared to make space
for the mansions. Nethertheless the location is just amazing and beautiful.
Let's take a look at some of those houses.

This house is not the biggest but has an amazing yard and direct beach access.

The neighbor house is one of the oldest in this area.
It was built in 1897 for Karl St.Croix, who owned sugar plantations on the Island.

This house with the address Ocean Drive 45 Josiah's Bay was recently sold
for 11,4 Mio $ and became one of the most expensive houses on the Island ever.
It belonged to the deceased legend Johnny Cash who spent the winter months on the Island.

Several vacation houses of the Hilton Beach Resort and the beach itself ,
wich  has a long and wide swath of sand that makes it ideal for sunbathing.
At certain times in the winter when the waves reach their optimum peak,
it is a favourite surfing spot.

The less prosperous people and travelers spend
their holidays and lifes in the hill side houses...

...or in the smaller oceanfront houses

By a special way of planting the dunes the owners make sure
to have the perfect oceanview and no trees in the way
(wich is a big problem in third-class resorts like the Durewan Antilles :P)

So, that's it for today. I hope you all like those first impressions of Walker's Island...

OOOH, Josiah's Bay looks wonderful, urban! I've been looking for a place to good on vacation this summer, and I think I've found it! Great work, my friend!

tooheys

David this update is exceptional. You really have that tropical look worked out to the finest detail.

DA was brilliant and that was an experiment, I can't even imagine how good Walker's Island is going to
look. Waiting in anticipation for the next update.

Cheers

Dave

bat

David- i just discovered this MD. I must say that I am blown away by your talents. You have created some wonderful tropical islands, and your creativity throughout the MD is impressive. I am especially in awe of Josiah's Bay. Truly some beautiful work. I must ask about two items- the beach stairs and the low shrubbery used on the beach slopes in the josiah bay pics- where did those come from? Looking forward to the next update-

kimcar

No way that i am disappointed David. This is a great update you gave us.  &apls &apls &apls You are one of the best beach maker in the community  . You know how to put us  in the vacation feeling and i hate you for that , because mine finnish today  ;D No seriously. Keep going i really like it Cheers

Jmouse

If I had to pick a favorite house it would be Ocean Drive 45 (champagne taste/beer budget), but every scene is just stunning in its own right. I especially like the stairways to the beaches.
Congratulations on a terrific start.

Until next time...
Joan

Great work with these beach front homes.

Robin

Very impressive development indeed! I must say I really like the beachmod you are using. And, strangly it fits perfectly with the beach lots, I would have guessed that there would have been more visible seems, but apparantly not. Very good stuff!

Of course, I have to ask how you pull that off - are those custom beach lots, or have you photoshopped the edges out? It looks gourgous either way. &apls

You'd be interested to know that if you use that particular beach mod, the sand texture has been replaced by one that fits that one better. :P

Very nice place, and I love Karen Walker, she's probably the funniest character on Will and Grace. :P

I'm looking forward to seeing the main area of Walker's Island, and any other islands that follow.

Her Holiness, our beloved and godlike Karen Walker wants to thank everyone
for their nice and kind comments.

@praiodan:
Mrs. Walker is very happy, that you like it
that much and hopes we will see you again.

@pat: Her Holiness is pleased by your nice words
and I am too
Yeah, I made it two rounds, thanks

@thundercrack: Mrs. Walker sends you her thanks
and hopes to see you around at Walker's Island someday.

@Dave: Mrs. Walker is happy, that you enjoy the work of the
Minister of Architecture and Developent so much.
I feel honored, that you call  DAs "brilliant", thank you very much!

@bat: Thank you very much!

@EDGE: Nice to meet you here! I'm glad you found your way to my little paradise.
Thanks so much for your nice compliments. I'm sorry to tell you, that I made
the low shrubbery in the lot editor. I used azalea.- and hydragena-props and
just put them together on a green base texture, and I made some for the edges
on a beach texture.  The stairways are made by uroncah and can be found here.

@kimcar: One of the best beach creators in the community,
I will put that in my signature :P Thanks so much!
I'm sorry your holiday is over already but I will try my best to
keep the vacation feeling here at sc4devotion.

@Joan: It is not known, who bought Ocean Drive 45.
It was sold at Christies's NYC to someone anonymous.
Thanks for your visit and all your kind words.

@Robin : Yeah, I finally got the lot editor, thanks for dropping by.

@emilin: Yeah all the each textures are changed with the
white sands beach mod. The beach houses have some beach base textures...
thanks for dropping by.

@David: Oceanic Airlines flies daily from Miami International Airport
to Karen Walker International :P
Thanks for your nice words and your visit.

@Shadow Assassin: Mrs. Walker is glad you like her and her Island.

Here is the region view of the Island, so you can see how big it is....

Here is a teaser of the next Update
