Hi, everyone.  :D I have a new CJ on Simtropolis, which I wanted to post entries of, here and over at ST. Those who don't visit Simtropolis often won't know the background story, I think. To see the "story", as well as previous updates, please visit this link:

And now, the first SC4D entry (this entry is basically my plan for the next updates):

Great start. &apls
Where did you find the small buildings from the last 3 images of the slums?

may1919

Thank you! Those slum houses are on the LEX actually. "LBT House Pack", I believe. :D

Great start!

I love the contrast of wealth and squalor, it is all presented really well!

art128

Looking great!

Though, a little empty on some pictures.

Also try to post replies when you have an update to post, as the moving through the mayor diaries sections is based on post count.
I'll take a quiet life... A handshake of carbon monoxide.

A nice start, but some cars on those roads would do wonders.

And it's weird to think that folks in slums can afford all that colorful paint.

Thank you all very much! :D

So, here's a new entry, after weeks and weeks... (I was brought down by schoolwork.)  :'(

It's a new day in Dauphinnbourg! The sun is rising and the imperial subjects are having breakfast...

Emperor Francois is actually here right now. He is visiting the capital city for a week before he moves onto the other Katrinesque realms in different parts of the world. There's a rumor in the slums... Some people think that he might actually grant independence to the nation soon. In reality though, the Republic of Dauphinnbourg is far, far away. The monarchy will not yield anytime soon.

Much of the lower-class population is against imperial rule. Their taxes have been increasing every year, to the point that it is now impossible for the majority of the lower-class to afford it. Many have migrated to other nations, many others are becoming politically involved.

Storms such as Ernesto this year have caused a lot of damage in Dauphinnbourg, very far away storms have managed to flood many districts of the city and blow rooves away. The Imperial Government, however, has still not compensated all of the citizens on its registry. Many go to government offices in the city, almost every day, and fill out applications. Yet, they have not received any compensation so far. Very few people have been paid so far.

Where does the government's money go? To projects such as this... A massive financial district is being constructed here. Companies are moving into the city, and they hire here. Hundreds of thousands of jobs will be created. However, only those with business degrees or important office skills will be hired. Those in the slums who could not receive an education because nearly all education in Dauphinnbourg is private, will not be able to work here.

The government ignores the slums and the education dilemma, and continues to increase taxes. One Katrinesque politician had previously said, "Those people are lazy and don't want to learn. It's their problem, they simply don't like learning. They need to stop blaming everyone around them and do some work." The remarks led to outrage, and the legislature was eventually pressured into suspending the lawmaker.

The Catholic Church, however, has helped a lot. They provide food, shelter, and basic necessities in the slums, and they've even found employment for a lot of people. It is a new day in Dauphinnbourg, where the majority of the population struggles, and the government fails to help them...

Thanks for reading.
