[TS_Venture]

Venture Island is the third largest of the U.S. San Juan Islands. Venture Island is 39.41 square miles in land area. The Island is about 64 miles from British Columbia's largest city of Vancouver and about 62 Miles from Seattle, Washington.



The island was purchased from the United States for 1.3 million dollars in 1974 by world renowned super scientist and adventurer Dr. Jonas Venture Sr. In March, 1976 the Venture Compound was completed, serving as headquarters for Venture Industries as well the home of Doctor Venture and his son, Thaddeus S. "Rusty" Venture.



In 2012, 23 years after the death of Jonas Sr, his son Dr. Jonas Venture Jr. founded a city on the island, which was to be known as Venture City. Though the Island is within the boundaries of Washington State, it is not part of the United States, it is instead its own country.

First Stop: Jonas Boulevard, which runs the entire northern shore of Venture City.

Venture City now has a professional baseball team. The Venture City Monarchs!






The Home of The Monarchs for the 2012 season will be Brady Field. Located at 42nd St. and Aramingo Avenue.


Brady Field is currently the home of Venture University's NCAA baseball team, The Super Scientists.


The Super Scientists will share time this season between Brady Field and a smaller field nearby..


 as construction is completed on Monarch Ballpark, scheduled to be opened in 2013.
