And you thought you'd make it through the day without a 3RR update...

Here's the new 2x2 road wide curve.  Inside of it are the widest game road "curve" (gaaaak!) you can make and the regular road game curve.

On the right, for comparison, is the original wide curve, which is 4x4.

Here's what several of you had in mind, I think, in wanting these.

I think I'm finally approaching the right combination of road "edge" color and alpha map gradation.  The overall color's still a bit off, but folks with better eyes than mine can tweak it.

Now, here's your notional steep mountain pass grade.  I left the grid on so you can see the incline.

Here's what you can get using the game curves.

Here's the same road using the 2x2 curves.

So, as the Emperor said [linkie], "There you have it."

And you will, soon.

John Michael (yochananmichael), welcome to the "Double-0" Club.  The honors posts are sort of backordered right now, but don't give up hope!

More 3RR goodies on the way...

Later.

Those are a huge improvement on the current in-game curves, David.     I know I'll certainly be able to put them to good use.  Congrats on 3800 posts, too, and congrats to John Michael on joining the Double-0 club!

Adam, that has to be the weirdest-looking eating utensil I've ever seen--a plork? (plane+fork, gotta love portmanteaus.)

Well, but little kids will love it. As you know, they only eat their vegetables when they come in via airplane or something like that, so this has to be the perfect excuse for parents to feed them with healthy stuff. ;)

David, once again, this is a great new achievment - so simply on the first glance, yet very powerful in the game.

Those look very nice, David.  I simply can not find your rapids here, the only thing that pops up under your name in the LEX is the ploppable rocks, which is strange.  Are going to release your lots of seasonal trees, (about where I left off when I had to beg some time off last year?)  Just wondering, I think you should upload all your creations so us lazy folks can enjoy your stuff too.  I haven't gotten up to date yet, so I don't know about this.  But then I haven't read War and Peace either.

Keep up the good work.  Peter.

These two new curves are looking very nice! Good work on them!

Haljackey

Wow, 3RR is looking amazing!  Those tighter 90 degree road curves will certainly get their use anywhere from a rural countryside to a urban jungle.

Keep up the great work!

Best,

Sign me up, if you need testers for those tight curves!

debutterfly

Those are great David.  Better for those sharper turns that aren't that wide. Now you just need some testing.  ()testing()

the bonus is that anything built to go inside an avenue roundabout will fit nicely inside these new tighter curves.....
