Okay, I have downloaded Jeronij's (hope I spelled it right) green seawalls from the LEX. I was just wondering how you can use it because earlier when I was playing Simcity, I was using this and at some times, it kept on saying "overlaps protected area" and even when I terraform, it still turns out horrible. Are there any tutorials (SC4D and Simtropolis) about how to use these seawalls?

Rady

Actually I don't know of any seawalls tutorial ... but if you post a picture of your problem, we might help, because I don't have any problems in placing those seawall lots ...

Do you use PEG's leveller tool for flattening the area where the seawall should go? In that case there's a known bug that sometimes after deleting the leveller lot, the game kind of "remebers" that something was built there and won't let you plop a new lot. In that case just dezone (with the res/com/ind dezoning tool) the whole area to get rid of that problem.
If it's a good idea, go ahead and do it. It's much easier to apologize than it is to get permission.

I don't know how to post pictures and what is PEG leveller tool? Can you send me a link to that?

Hey Daryl,

PEG's leveller can be found here: http://www.simtropolis.com/stex/details.cfm?id=4527

As for posting pictures you need to upload them to an image uploading site, I use imgur.com:

load your image there, copy the link,

paste that info onto your reply and highlight it...

then press the insert image button and voila!

Although jpgs are the preferred image format here.  ::)

What difference does it make xxdita? I figured as the images are hosted elsewhere that it wouldn't matter what format they were in.

JPG is better because it's compressed and therefore the file size is much smaller than other picture formats like png or bmp ;) (the last two ones are not compressed) And, the smaller the size of a picture is, the faster it'll load :)

As io-by said above, PNG's have a large load time compared to JPG's.  This is especially noticeable in MD's that use them.  It's not a major issue for those of us on good connections, but not everyone is on one so it's fairer on everyone.

I think I had the same problem with either Jeroni's or some other seawalls. Does this happen after you bulldoze a wall and try to re-plop it. If so make sure you bulldoze the entire coverage area of the wall, including a couple of rows into the water. Always worked for me.

No reply necessary, just want to say thanks for thinking of us with slow connections.
