That may be true for some mappers and the technique they used, but there are those of us who have been doing this for so long and have so much experience in map making that it doesn't take a tremendous amount of time to do so.  That was my point.

So it's not how much time you "want to spend" on it, but how much time you need to spend on it. Your point was that, in time, dobdriver will be able to achieve the same results he is currently achieving, but in a shorter period? Well hopefully that is true (and thanks for pointing it out).
Just as long as he achieves those same results.
