Some great looking updates. The ruins of Fort Bly are looking mighty impressive, a really nice image you made for us.
The Timberland update is beautifully done. I like the way the river turns and the bridges do look like they are in the perfect spot. The combination of river front textures are nice, going from sand to grass.
The suburbs are also very nicely done, lots of variation and almost no straight lines.

You have a really great way of laying everything out realistically! Look forward to your next update. :)

Battlecat: Thanks Battlecat. I love the tools that are so quickly changing the game. I think the curved roads are probably the most effective way to get away from the 'grid'.

bat: Thanks for the compliment on the river, and thanks for stopping by.

Tomas Neto: I'm glad you like the cities Tomas. Thanks again for your support.

Driftmaster07: I'm glad you stopped by. Nice to see you here, and thanks for the compliment.

sc-4: Thank you for the applause. I never tire of a good round of applause  :)

kwakelaar: Thanks for the very nice compliments. Nice to hear from you.

girlfromverona: Thank you for that. Sorry that the update you were looking forward to took so long   ()sad()

Timberland's inland container terminal transfers goods between rail and trucks. The Timberland terminal is roughly fifty miles from one of the largest maritime container ports on the Eastern seaboard. The Timberland terminal also provides storage facilities for both loaded and empty containers. Loaded containers are stored for relatively short periods, while waiting for onward transportation, while unloaded containers may be stored for longer periods awaiting their next use. Containers are normally stacked for storage, and the resulting stores result in vast container stacks.

The Timberland container terminal is a mid-range terminal which serves as a consolidation point inland from it's sister maritime port. One of it's primary roles is to act as a buffer relieving the maritime port's container stacking areas.

Very nice pictures of your container terminal. :) I guess it was a lot of work, especially the selfmade LE Lots.
This multi-storey car park ist very nice too, can you tell me where I can download it please?

Have a good weekend
Manuel

Battlecat

Awesome update!  Very nice looking inland container storage!

Tomas Neto

Manuel (ManuelR): You're correct about the terminal taking some time. What really takes time is finding and downloading the exact buildings I wanted for the terminal. For me though, that's extremely enjoyable work. Thanks for stopping again.

Battlecat: Thanks for your continued support. This update should be of particular interest to you my friend.

Tomas Neto (Tomas): Thank you my friend for another round of applause. You're an inspiration.

djvandrake: Thank you for your great compliments. I appreciate it.

TiFlo: Thank you for that, and thanks for helping out with the directions to that carpark.

penguin007 (Will): Thank you very much for that. When visitors to Monument Valley say they feel as though they're looking at a photograph I feel as though my work has been successful.

I haven't posted images in a while because I've gotten a bit sidetracked on a small Monument Valley mapping project. I'm making a bit of progress on the city building but this post will be a bit of a teaser focused on the maps. These are as yet unfinished but are starting to look promising. I'll post more as the maps approach their completion.

Wow, very impressive maps.

kwakelaar

You have actually mapped the footprints of all the buildings...wow. The map looks beautiful.
Also the update of the inland container terminal is very well done.

Battlecat

Very ambitious to put the building footprints on the maps, you're doing a great job here!  I'm looking forward to seeing more of this mapping work, it looks great.

ecoba

They certainly are looking stunning, Geoff. This is a previousy unventured style of mapping from what I know, and I am sure that the final product will look great. Also, sorry for not posting as often in your wonderful MD.

Wow, great update Geoff, very nice maps!!!

djvandrake: Thank you very much. Glad you're liking the maps. There's a lot more to add. Keep watching for new updates.

kwakelaar: The footprints are the next step after the last maps I did with the landscape contours. When the map is complete it will have the footprint of every building in the city.

Battlecat: I've been on vacation for the last week so I had some extra time to spend on this. I needed an ambitious project. Thanks for staying in touch.

Ethan (ecoba): I wanted to try something a little different. I'm always looking for new ways to convey more information in an efficient manner. I'm glad you like it.

Tomas (Tomas Neto): Thank you Tomas. I always appreciate your enthusiasm.

A few more details have been added. The building footprints are all in place. Here's a small teaser showing some of the added detail.
