Reminds me of the connection between Venice and the mainland!

Nice work! Although, I do sense something in the pics. Trying to save some space on photobucket? They seem a bit pixelated. Anyways, great work! Alex

Ethan (ecoba): Hi, Ethan! Thanks so much, my friend! I never thought of the bridge-tunnel being a landmark for Marathon, but that's a really cool idea! Great thinking!

djvandrake: Thanks!

Geoff (calibanX): Thank you, Geoff!

kimcar: Thank you so much!

Isaac (Masochist): Hey, Isaac! It's always great to have you here in Marathon, my friend! Thank you so much for your very kind words, and I hope to see you again soon!

Haljackey: Thank you!

Jordan (canyonjumper): Thanks, Jordan! And good luck trying things, my friend!

Arthur (art128): Thanks, Arthur!

Daryl (daryl7478): Hello! Sorry to hear about your virus problems, my friend. I hope you can get that straightened out soon. Thank you for stopping by, though! Take care!

io_bg: Thanks!

Joe (JoeST): Thank you, Joe!

bat: Thank you, my friend!

Battlecat: Thanks for your very kind words!

Tomas Neto: Thanks!

armagin: Thank you! I'll have to look at the Venice connection to see the similarities! Take care!

Alex (KoV Liberty): Hi, Alex! You noticed that, eh? I tried something a little different with resizing them using the "Batch Conversion" feature in IrfanView, rather than doing it one at a time in Photoshop. Needless to say, I won't be doing that again! Thanks for stopping by!

What are we putting together in this section here...

...Can you guess?

In a bit!

Something awesome, no doubt :D

A nice couple of great landmarks there, Dustin ! I love what I see in this picture my friend, great work with the layout of the roads and avenue. The only thing that seems a bit odd to me is the "roundabout" with the building which seems to be a national archive.. (at the left of the picture) .. lets say I'm going to the top of that avenue from the bottom, I came to that roundabout and I'm not able to drive around the building, but I have to take the diagonal avenue and then take some roads to get to my goal. Why not making a real roundabout (a close one) with the one way streets and then attach the avenue to it ?

Anyway, without that detail, great work ! And as Joe said, Something awesome - like all your creations - is in the work. $%#Ninj2

Take care,
-Arthur.

Is this possibly the historical center of the city?

Battlecat

Very cool looking preview. Looks like a slightly older section of the city is on the way!

canyonjumper

Well, I'm going to go with the flow here and guess the historical area of Marathon. It looks great anyhow! Curious to know what will be in the center of all those 90-degree curves ;D!

               Your friend,
                             Jordan

PS: I succeeded in doing the underwater highway ;D
I'm the one who jumped across the Grand Canyon... and lived.

djvandrake

Don't know what's going on here, but my hunch is something snazzy will be in the center of that avenue circle.  :)

bat

Looking forward to the "final" / "finished" version of that section... ;)

calibanX

I'm going to guess a stadium. I can't imagine what else would go into a spot that big.

What will go into that spot... hmm... something round?

Sorry I haven't stopped by in what seems like ages, but it's good to see the recent updates. Your attention to detail is still top notch, and that bridge/tunnel combination was nicely done. Still curious to see what you're planning for that circular area (and if it will bear any relation to the rectangular area just up the roads top right). Somehow I expect to see a ring of buildings, with a second, circular building inside it. I'll have to stop by for a more detailed comment later, but for now, it's looking good. Always good to see an update from you Dustin.

It seems like the old part of a city, perhaps its a concert hall? GOOD WORK &apls

Just out of curiosity, how much of your cities are plopped vs. grown?

Joe (JoeST): Thanks, Joe!

Arthur (art128): Hey, Arthur! You just picked up an interesting quirk that I've found with splitting avenues like I've done. Unfortunately, it's the old "form vs. function" battle, and in this instance, I usually let form win. I like the way it looks like that, rather than having intersections at each corner, so I just leave it go. Hey, you have to leave some things to the imagination, right? Thanks for catching it, though, my friend! Very perceptive!

citybuilder12: Hmmmm...partly!

Battlecat: Thanks!

Jordan (canyonjumper): Hey, Jordan! I'm glad to hear that you had some success with the underwater tunnels, my friend! Excellent job! Take care!

djvandrake: Thanks, my friend!

bat: Thank you, bat!

Geoff (calibanX): A stadium, eh? That's actually not a bad idea, Geoff!

Matt (threestooges): Hi, Matt! So great to see you again! Thank you so much for your fantastic comments and I hope to see you again soon!

Will (penguin007): Thank you, Will!

i_love_lamp: Thanks!

Alex (KoV Liberty): Thank you!

citybuilderx: A concert hall's a good idea! Thank you!

armagin: Plopped vs. grown? Well, let's just say that I like to have a bit of control of what goes where! Hope that answers your question!

Just a quick little teaser that I'll share with you this midday...

I've got a plumber coming this afternoon to plumb (is that a word?), then a...dentist appointment... ... ...

More from Marathon to come!

Battlecat

That's a neat looking shot.  Love the color treatment, and there are some great details tucked in this shot.
