Thanks Pat! I'm glad you like the building. Its name is Pluimers Insulation. Currently its on the private lex for scrutineering. I'll upload it somewhere next week :)

I made another industrial building this morning. It's a simple 4x6 I-ht building. If you have any suggestions or comments to improve this building, please let me know ;)

art128

That industrial building looks excellent my friend.
Textures are nice and roof junk looks good too.
My only suggestion will be to add some windows on those two big rectangles..  ;)

Arthur.
I'll take a quiet life... A handshake of carbon monoxide.

Thanks Arthur. Imo windows wouldn't fit over there, but I'll add some stuff to make it look less bare :)

Andreas

Well, as usual, my "complaint" would be that the wall texture is a tad too saturated, and the roof texture looks a bit too busy for me. ;) Maybe you could scale it up a little as well, since the trucks look rather tall, compared to those doors and the general roof height. But we definitely need more I-HT stuff, so this is much appreciated. :) I wouldn't add windows to those "blocks" as well, but what about a company logo?

Great work on this factory! But it looks like a I-M to me ;)

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I changed the roof height and the loading docks. As for the wall textures, I'm not going to make them as grey as Barby's hair :D
Anyway here's to new design with some slightly desaturated textures :)

Although I want more I-ht as well I tend to agree with io_bg, this looks way too I-m for HT :'(

Andreas

Well, compare it with jestarr's brick I-M, then it's I-HT alright. ;) Looking much better now, though.

Tag one, I don't care so much will it be high tech or manufactoring industry, but I must say it looks much better than the previous version!

Yes, it's very good now!
JeStarr is the architect of 19th century industrial complexes, but this kind of lots is very much needed in more contemporary industrial areas. So I'd vote for IM, if there would be a poll and if I were allowed to throw in my opinion.

Looking good.  The new height works well.

I'd take a little more of a look at the "office" entrance.  Looks bare.  Maybe an awning above it, or a sign.  Trash cans or modest planters on either side of the door? And the sign up top blends in; maybe try a darker texture?

Hello Tag one, Jack wilds here...

I like your contempo-type buildings for the manufacturing parks, they the look I'm going for... thanks for your added creativity to add to my cities.

As for the 'Blue Conductor Industries' (my name cause I don't know its name  ()stsfd() ) structure I'd consider two versions one HT and the I-D, separated by color schemes, graphics, name and query.  The latest version is better than the earlier, glad you correct the scale appearance, and color tone adjustments.
I'd also do something more attractive for the office entrance like SG recommended -awning, planters...
then I'd add a picnic table for smoker breaks and lunch with a tree or two and something in pavement graphic as in 'exit' 'entrance' or arrows designating it, 'visitor parking' etc... whatever you care to do its all good...  ;)
keep making these operations my sims need a job just as badly as I do.  &mmm

Yep, this new version looks a lot better.  I like the loading docks!  :)

I agree with SG about the sign.  Perhaps some kind of an outline for the letters or a different color altogether would look better.  ;)

Many thanks for the suggestions guys, they are much appreciated!

I changed the building a bit and transformed it in an I-m building (it looked a bit too I-m to me).
Than I made a copy of the original model and made an more high tech version. I removed most of the loading docks and replaced them by curtain walls. I also made a nice park in front of it.
Here's the I-m version, PolarTech:

And here's the I-ht version, Jack Wild Conductors:

I'm not sure about the flowers in front of the building. Personally I like them as they form a nice contrast with my I-m buildings, but I can understand it if people think it's a bit too much  :D

Your opinions please ;)

Andreas

The I-M lot looks very nice, but the I-HT version is a bit crammed - too many flowers indeed. ;) The parking lots are blocking one loading ramp, so you'd better cut down the greenery a bit and move the parking lots to the right. I like the lawn with the tree and the lunch table, though. :)
Andreas

Rayden

I concur with Andreas, that loading dock with the cars blocking it and the potted trees are something to change perhaps. The rest is good, really good.

Hello Tag one, Jack wilds here...

I agree with Andreas concerning moving the parking to the right out of the way of the loading area. Moving the parking lot over will cut the garden in half and it should look OK, or place it in one of the corners or ring the garden around  the tree...
I like the hedge on the right lot line, paths, the curtain wall brick and side door leading to the break table...

It'll be a balancing act of elements in a small space.  However, two potted trees at the entry is good but not so close to the structure and then limit the hedge to one side or the other of the entry walk -thinking on the left side... a path from the loading area to the front entry might work; cause those truckers will blaze one... and/or consider a narrower entry approach walk   ;)

Like the graphic and the names, is the 'polar tech' bear for both operations? perhaps a bison for the 'Jack Wild Conductors' or a 'wired' red bison or bear head, after all -wires, cables and several electronic devices act as conductors even us in a lightning storm.  ;)

However its your project and the creative license of final appearance is yours to make, enjoy it.  :sunny:

Thanks for the comments guys, they're much appreciated. I've increased the size of the loading area and did some other changes. Now it's time to start with the readme and the packaging stuff  :)
