Welcome, good people, to page 4!

QuoteGreat idea, good choice of songs, great pictures!

I really do enjoy your RHW layout. I have to confess I only tried it once or twice but never really used ...  Embarrassed

Nice regional shot, too!

Take care and don't forget to make backups!

Bernhard  thumbsup
Thanks! Backups are already there ;)

Quotegreat work on the clover leaf, I bet that took a while!
Yeah, with ennedi's slope mod, MIS is really hard to handle. Still comes out far prettier in the end, though  :)

QuoteThat newest update is wonderful there!! And the region overviews are also looking fantastic! Great development on it!

Looking forward to the e pictures...
Well, I certainly hope they've satisfied! Enjoy!

QuoteAwesome update and great work on the layout of the RHW and that clover leaf.  I haven't tried to use it too much as of yet, but after looking at your pics, I may have to sit down and really give it a go.
Robin
Well, I hope your endeavors are successful!

QuoteExelent update friend, enjoyed watching your RHW network. I especially like the flows of cars shown on the pictures, making it looks so realistic. This is one of the few MD updates where I really every single picture is very much to my likings!

The only thing that bothers me is the rock in the top left corner of the region. What extra terrestial power did cause that Huh
Thanks! i used the euro traffic generator lots, but i've had some trouble disguising them. I've got to work on how to make a lot be flora-tolerable for the best effect. If not, I just learned how to make transparent lots, so I can do that and it'll be ok. And I've already addressed the rock ;)

QuoteToichus grand update here!!! Aint that the devil's head by a chance? I cant remember my geography lol.....  Are you using traffice generators by a chance on the RHW? I love that interchange area!!!
Yeah, I'm using the euro traffic generator lots. And it's Devils Tower, so close enough ;) It was the focus of Close Encounters of the Third Kind, an awesome movie lol.

QuoteWoah, thats an odd rock, update, was fabulous, perhaps the rock is the stairway to heaven  :P
Could be, could be  :-[ GAH! My plot failed! It was too transparent after all!

QuoteWOW!

You're doing some magnificent things here, my friend! Sorry it's taken me so long to comment here, but I will definitely be around to see what you've got for us next!

Can't wait to see more!

Dustin
It's all right! I'm glad to hear you're enjoying it!

All right, everyone who commented after this update, i'll do replies again a week from today ;) Remember, updates are every biweekly Saturday! See you then!

The marina is excellent my friend. I would not mind seeing a close up of that whole area (e5 is just showing a great part of it - I want to drool over the whole thing if you get my drift :)

Looks great!

... and how's this for irony....  As I'm reading the updates from "Big County," I'm listening to the song "Big Country" by Bela Fleck and the Flecktones... makes the experience that much better!

Your marina looks great, but I have to say something about the update before last. Bruce Springsteen is truly the greatest ever in my opinion. Good song to have chosen. Back to this update: great marina, the terrain mod you're using looks great for this area. &apls
Thanks! I personnally like Bruce's integration of saxophone into his songs. Makes for a unique listen.

Must agree, I've seen him live 26 times, the last two being two weeks ago in Dallas and Houston. But anyway...I also agree with the comment about the marina, it does look great! The water looks amazing!

Keep up the great work!

Dustin
Wow, you must be a hardcore fan lol. I've not gotten the chance to see any bands live, really.

Well, I'll have that for you next week! Hopefully it'll be good.

Alright, I'll rummage for some pics for the next update of the marina! Actually, I tweaked it a bit recently, so I can show one part that wasn't there before.

Hehehe, it's such a neat movie. I love the whole thing with the keyboard and note progression. It was fun.

Thanks! I still need to work on the edges of the cities forest correlating, but aside that, i'm rather pleased with the outcome as well.

Never heard of them, lol, and I wasn't even aware of another song by that name. Is it a cover, or completely different from the one I did?

And here's a sample of what I've been working on (learned how to make transparent lots! yay!)

TopCliff

That looks cool. I like the realism of how some of the locomotives are backwards and stuff. Good job, keep it up.
Best movie of all time: Ferris Bueller's Day Off. If you disagree, Cameron will send your car over a cliff.

Please, call me Leo.  I quote John Lennon now, a great musician and philosopher. Particularly, one of his songs: You may say I'm a dreamer. But I'm not the only one. I hope someday you join us, and the world will live as one.

Pat

Ooooh my Toichus that is simply wonderful!!!  &apls  I love that lot and the way you have it displayed it has that realistic feel to it!!!!  &apls &apls

Original song.  Bela Fleck and the Flecktones are  a quasi-jazz group that really doesn't fit in a genre other than just calling them a jam band... which is vague in and of itself.  The great majority of their songs are instrumental.

hey, guys, I've got some bad news. I've been really busy this week with AP exams and my starting work and an internship and getting stuff together for mother's day, so I'm going to have to delay the update till either tomorrow or Monday. I'll do responses then, too. Thanks for your patience!

Your new transparent lots are looking good. Only thing I might suggest would be to use Jestarr's Diesel Road Unit Prop as your engines instead of the automata props.

Toichus Maximus

Hello everyone! Update time, and sorry once more for the delay.

Today we'll be looking at some rail with the tune of Last Train To Clarksville by The Monkees.

Take the last train to Clarksville,
And I'll meet you at the station.

f1
You can be be there by four thirty,
'Cause I made your reservation.
Don't be slow, oh, no, no, no!
Oh, no, no, no!

'Cause I'm leavin' in the morning
And I must see you again
We'll have one more night together
'Til the morning brings my train.
And I must go, oh, no, no, no!

f2
Oh, no, no, no!
And I don't know if I'm ever coming home.

Take the last train to Clarksville.
I'll be waiting at the station.
We'll have time for coffee flavored kisses
And a bit of conversation.

f3
Oh... Oh, no, no, no!
Oh, no, no, no!

Take the last train to Clarksville,
Now I must hang up the phone.
I can't hear you in this noisy
Railroad station all alone.

f4
I'm feelin' low. Oh, no, no, no!
Oh, no, no, no!
And I don't know if I'm ever coming home.

f5

Take the last train to Clarksville,
Take the last train to Clarksville,

f6

And, here's just another picture that I found that I liked alot, which doesn't quite go with the song.

f7

f1-Entrance to the Laforey Mouth Tunnel on the Northeast side. This line is a major rail conduit between the two sections of The Big Country separated by the Laforey river.
f2-crossing over the Red Canyon River. It's a smaller stream, and a smaller line, so commuter traffic isn't common, but because of rail's integral part of the transport system of the big country, it still sees quite a few passenger trains through.
f3-5th Infantry Brigade memorial bridge. It was commissioned shortly after the war of independence and crosses the Red Canyon River further down, over the more canyon-ish part.
f4-spur line down along the Red Canyon River. an oil depot exists far up the line, so every other morning, a long line of tank cars rolls down the track.
f5-another shot of the Laforey Tunnel at night. You can see the train about to enter the long dug up section just past the station. Next to the entrance is the Arguin Cormorant's stadium, the Fishing Hole. It's a popular stadium with the people of the Big Country, but still hasn't really reached any level of international attention for soccer players.
f6-the end of the line for freight in the big country. This is a sneek peek at what i've been doing in that cut out section of the map. This is the Claeston Seaport, which handles the majority of imported freight from the sea.
f7-Something I rummaged up, a nice twilight snapshot of the Thayerville terminal. Thayerville is at the near side of the bridge at the entrance of the river, for those of you who'd like to place it. This is largely an auxiliary por, but still recieves noticeable traffic.

Alright, time for replies!

Well, now Peg's railfleet props are out, and I spied some nice ones in the picture that i'm probably going to fall back on (Namely the FT. I was salivating for that one ;) ). Thanks for the suggestion, tho!

Cheers, all! i'll talk to you guys again next week, hopefully!

I guess I've been lurking here long enough.  I always enjoy your pictures, and the presentation is very unique.  I really enjoy reading the lyrics and seeing what you choose to go along with them.  I especially like the night shot of the rail trestle in this update!  It's a very simple yet stunning shot.

Great waterfront area there, very realistic. I think I know of a song you could use. Ever hear Goodbye Stranger by SuperTramp? Anyways, keep up the good work and have a good time doing it too.

You know - that is the best thing here: even if the pictures are not fully to my likings, I still have a pleasant stay with your choice of music !!

It's just a matter of taste: night pictures are not my favourite - probably because I don't see as much in the dark as others. The funny thing is however: I love pic f7 -the freightport - so even if this does not go with the song, it made me happy, and I am glad you posted it!!!!
