Cleanitol - Installation Crash Issue
« on: July 29, 2011, 02:56:10 AM »
For certain language Windows XP/Vista, Cleanitol wouldn't install.
It is said there is collision with the French language codes.

I tried installing Cleanitol; installation crashes.

Could someone upload Cleanitol in a zipped format? (all files in Program Files\BSCCleanitol)
I hear it will still crash running after each session ends, but it still does the job   :)

Or better, does anybody know how to have it installed without crashing?

Oh, solved it

the reason was the ridiculous French c character of the francais.lang file

Installed and rebooted XP in French, installed Cleanitol, and renamed the ridiculous Francais filename.
(becuz the character was a non-Unicode...)

I guess the developer could add "Skip/ignore error" popup menu during installation,
or make the French lang file installed last, so that the installation crashes before installing everything useful.

(I know he was aware of this issue since the beginning of Cleanitol)

(Maybe he feels bad towards the Microsoft/Apple global American empires,
but truth to be told, he's using Windows too)

(I think these language issues are what prohibits Euro-Americans
using resources of other languages, and vise versa)

(i.e. I'm not a jap, but have you taken some look on jap stuffs, perhaps SOMY?
Japs got lots of cool port stuffs and I haven't seen many cocasians using them.
I think it's the language issues..)

(this is ridiculous   :angrymore: )

well, problem solved!
thx to myself.  &apls
