I want a clearer CAM... so I ty to help for it

I love CAM, but the fact is there is a huge amount of dependencies, and a lot of things I don't understand.

For sure I'm not an active member of the LEX, but I read for years and I appreciate the work of BSC members for even more.
That's what I believe I'm not the only one to think that collecting all links, attempt to be aware of everything, and gathering all the stuff is every month more and more complicated.
Especially for people like me, who are only "fans", that's mean without any contact with the sources.
And that, for sure, contribute to the demise of bandwidth.

It's not doing a bad critic, I'm respectful of the job done by now, which is simply outstanding... and all of this for free.
I'm just a boy who has notice several things and want to speak a little about.


Few examples:
- The starter dependencies topic tell us to download BLSFarmFieldsVol01.
And this dependency tell us to download BSC MEGA Props - MJB Vol01 and PEG Xmas Dev Kit (Which are not in the dependencies topic)
BLSFarmFieldsVol01, tell us also to download BSC Essencial, which has been reshaped and for that reason tell us to download BSC Textures Vol03 and BSC MEGA Props - Misc Vol02
(The last one is also not in the starter dependencies topic)

- Some CAM stuff are not in the "CAMeLots - Linking all available lots and bats topic." (Ex: Gardena Garden Tools, Fukitol Pharms HT, KWK Palais Kolhof)

- More and more lots, props, textures and engines are reshaped, and reshaped, and reshaped... which is good, but a little bit confusing without any summery to clear minds.

- BMD Mediterranean Style Dairy Farms tell us to download BLSFarmFieldsVol03, which is included in BMD Mediterranean Style Farms
But a later upload of barbyw, BLS D66 Hunters Cabin, tell us to download BMD Mediterranean Style Farms.
Which is great, because is the easiest way to find BLSFarmFieldsVol03, but do this bats really need the install of no cam bats to work ? We don't know.



Are they mistakes, forgotten things, unneeded or minor stuff, deliberate omissions ?
What do people must believe in ?

Without explanations, I think they are little mistakes due to the enormous amount of work BSC members are dealing with.
That's why I try to help make a clearer CAM for everybody, and that's the reason of this topic.

I made a short first attempt, I worked on Industrial Resources to begin with, there is the link:First_Try_CAM_list.xls
I would like to know if I'm doing right, or if I'm doing wrong.

i agree with you,i think that some times there is a dependancy list from hell(sorry about this  )and this makes me to do not download some fantastic stuff...

Even though there are a lot of dependencies you have to remember the majority of the good lots and mods are a combination of a lot of peoples creations ie: textures and props, and you have to give these individuals their just credit. Perhaps someone can update the Master Dependencies List and create a Master Cleanitol.

BSC try hard to give upto date links for dependancies, update them when needed, but as you said there is a huge amount of various source to collect from.

Your list is more than welcome, as it will save some time and research for everyone. Once done, you can even make a cleanitol file so everyone can use it for checking and downloading

Some creators give BSC the permission to enclose their models into installers, where some others didn't, which in turn give the users more steps to be dependencies ok.

The easiest way is to get the LEX DVD

As for excel file, please save it as a xls 97-2003 version, not everyone has MS Office 2007

I remember I wasn't pleased with the way the Fukitol Pharms HT were packaged, with both the stage 5 CAM lot and stage 3 non-CAM lot included in the same file, SG_GROW_FukitolPharmsHT.SC4Lot. That way you couldn't choose which one to install...

However, I never got to ask SimGoober about it, and thus it slipped through... I guess we should revert to this though...
