The Change a letter game.
This game is simple. We start with a word say 'tea' and the next poster changes 1 letter in that word to make a new word like sea.
No 2 post rule applys unless Jeronij implements a 2 post rule on all forum games.

Unfortunately, as far as I understand the rule of the game, each person is only allowed to change one letter each post. It seems like more were changed for the last word. With no disrespect intended, I will use demotes:

This game is simple. We start with a word say 'tea' and the next poster changes 1 letter in that word to make a new word like sea.

I believe you can only change a letter not jumble the word and change a letter, so if I am right I am going to void that message (no offence) and please ignor my message if I'm wrong. "raked"
-
Actually Anthony is correct and you are mistaken.
The point to the game is to change one letter to make a new word and move any of the letters around to make a new word, not to just add a letter.

Nope, I changed the h... ::)
Dropped one of those pesty letters, huh?
If the pesty letter dropped down, I guess that slope must have been pretty...
steep

Oh my, at the risk of stirring up an old Kiwi friend of ours, I must bring up the subject of...
sheep.
-
I don't think our little Kiwi friend peers at this place for that...

Nope, instead of proposing to ponderous sheep, he's probably pondering props and properly preps himself for ponds... ::)

So you say he's prepping his props?

-
Oh the joy of change a letter, I must say, I like the turn this game has taken. But you really must stop poking fun at New Zealand for pete's sakes.
Only kidding, do it all you want. We can take it.
-
I wonder if our other Kiwi friend can take it though... ::) If not, I wish he'd speak up! :P
-
It was all lies, the photos are a copy and paste job!
-
I prefer to staple than to paste.
Added the "L". If metarvo can subract, I can add
-
Ah, so we add a letter to make this more stable ?
-
More stable? Naw, too late... I think Joel is just trying to belate us... the more letters, the more thinking is required... :-\
-
Hmm, need some american bashing now to turn the tables on SG
-
Okay, how about we try to start with a clean slate*?
*I don`t know if it`s possible...
-
*I don`t know if it`s possible...
No, the game is called "Change a Letter". And "change" doesn't mean "leave" or "add". But as this fact is ignored by many people here, I'll continue: ;)
salty
-
Salty? I guess that Sally will have to sully the bully named Billy,
though that is so silly that Sally says salty
stays....
Rules Shmules.. lol...
-
And now, it's rhyme time: trays
-
Let's see if anyone strays from the rhymes this time. :)
-
That would be the one who us betrays,
or the one who for the party pays...
He who rhymes a lot is the one who delays,
changing a letter is the only goal of these plays...
Thus, this writer takes a can of paint and sprays
the next word, upon which you may gaze...
-
American Bashing
Sounds like a plan!
I was once just a passer-by. It seems I'm now an addict.
-
Caution, An addict can become a spamer who can't spell.
-
As much as I love correcting misspells,
I have no other option than to add a letter and point out that you're a true a spammer... :P
-
Were you inferring, Mr Goober, that we, here in the civilised world, where we prefer drivers' licences to be coloured and to ensure that our cans are made of aluminium in the centre, so we analyse them, that we spell things incorrectly?
On that vane, the metric system is also better than imperial, so why don't you find a conversion rate for ounces to grammes.
I guess Australia and New Zealand just have it all right.
-
Ah but the metric system only works when you have the right equipment you see; as the length of the appendage at the base of my leg is exactly 12 inches, which truely makes it a "foot".
In any event the game must go on, and occasionally a letter is lost, for we rightfully are a group of gamers.
-
Ahhh, but true feet are not a foot long... ::) $%Grinno$%
The last phalanx of my thumb is 1.4 inches...
The appendix of my leg is about 7.7 such inches, or 10.7 standard inches...
And what is standard? Why only use Imperial inches?
I'd rather use the old Swedish inch, which is 0.974 Imperial inches...
Or the modern (back in the 19th century) decimal inch,
which was one tenth of a Swedish foot, or 1.169 Imperial inches...
The length of an inch in Denmark was 1.031 Imperial inches,
but in Norway it was occasionally up to 1.236 Imperial inches...
The Germans were close to the Brits by having an inch of 1.028 Imperial inches,
but in Saxony the inch was only 0.929 Imperial inches...
In Prussia the thumbs and feet must have been large... with a decimal inch of 1.483 Imperial inches,
and a foot thus being 14.83 "standard" inches...
Luckily the metric system merges all these equally standardized inches, except in a few corners of the world... ::)
Now, the next word derived from this would be metres or meters, but that would be rather unimaginative...
-
Ah... no wonder the women of the world complain that we men do not know truely how to measure things, for we cannot agree on a standard inch. But we must all agree that in the contest of sizing things up, it sounds more substantial to compare a number of inches to a meager portion of a meter...
-
Let us take a megger. It's useless in this case but ... who cares? $%Grinno$%
-
maybe if you use it on the things an eggler sells - but then again ...
-
As sure as eggs I won't put all my eggs in one basket...
Otherwise I would only have eggs on my face...
And never teach your grandmother to suck eggs...
Especially not bad eggs, those unattended by two-legged creatures called hens...
-
Ahh.. the twisted pathways of my shattered mind, as soon as I saw that last incarnation of our ever evolving word, I immediately thought of an old DCI classic... Legend of the One Eyed Sailor....
link (http://www.imeem.com/fwak/music/sZ_Z4nPf/blue-devils-legend-of-the-one-eyed-sailor/)
-
And here I thought SimGoober was the real legend around...
A blue devil batting shops and selling pets, mostly two-eyed ones...
...those that kids want pairwise, of both male and female gender... ::)
-
I tried my own hand at BAT, the problems began when I went to render.
-
Ah, summer is here, and the kiddies are out of school.
Mom and Dad don't know what to do with them, as the kids act the part of fools.
So they send them out to patrol the shopping centers, where they believe it will be cool.
We pop a stamp on their forehead and kick them out the door... "Return to Sender"
-
I found this game over at Simtropolis
but their version only has single words,
and a two post rule that's already nudged us.
Why do I get the feeling we're all nerds? ;)
-
Maybe because we are $%Grinno$%
Still we could also just do what everyone else does like herds
-
hards
-
Y'know, with swine flu, we should all wash our hands !
-
I know I really should, but I shan't
-
Aw shunt! Well this game awfully changed directions, whatever I'm done here.
-
Everyone shuns me, it's not fair :'(
-
Your spuns are cool (its slang for shoe)
-
The whole world spins round and round...
-
I wonder who here has thick skins
-
But you musst remember, the shins are one of the weakest parts of the body.
-
Who will the sun shine for today?
-
Well the sun shines for me everyday... right out of my hiney ;)
-
In the spring the sun shines a lot here... and all the bees come out to make their ... honey.
-
Everyone wants a lot of money.
-
all a yeoman wants is a plot of land...
-
that's a tricky one thingfishs ;), stop being such a meany
-
It is I, the one named greckman joining in this delightful game. ;D
-
Damed, i lost my keys!! :bomb:
-
Pitty, I don't have a medal of any kind
-
no medal? well that's pretty lame ;)
-
You only have yourself to blame.
-
Ka-Blam! so long silent e, go hang on other letters.
-
the explosion startled a number of lambs who were milling about suspiciously.
-
Causing the lambs to run right off a cliff and fall into some water which disturbed a bed of clams.
-
in reality though, the disturbance was small,
clams are just easily bothered is all. ;)
-
Soon the clams found themselves at the food stall.
-
A stall in a mall run by someone tall.
-
but the clams weren't customers
in fact they were late,
to be laid down upon
a customer's plate
Sorry for the rhyming, don't feel you have to continue it. :D
-
Well, I may continue rhyming later.
-
To that, I can relate, since I always like to procrastinate. ;D
-
That's a hard one... (http://emoticons2.yolasite.com/resources/bigthink.gif)
Not as hard as a rock though, about as hard as a deer's antler
(it's late ???)
-
Let us switch from fauna to flora:
anther
-
I think I spot a panther in that flora.
-
fortunately it was just a baby panther, but where there's a baby, there's usually a parent nearby...
-
It's cold too! It must be like 32 degrees farent height. Wait, did I misspell that...
-
Maybe ardent spirits could help to warm-up and to find out the correct spelling: "Fahrenheit".
-
ha ha. that's cold too ;)
I guess highrise earned that, as this is a spelling game.
-
It was a spelling game... when did we have to start being so darned witty with it though? ???
-
When Thingsfish ranted in prose. ;D
-
it's more fun - there's no challenge,
in changing cow to how.
I've been trained, to use my brain,
and it's starting to hurt now ;)
-
Gosh, you drained my brain with that poem $%Grinno$%
-
And then it was obvious what then came. It went down as it Rained.
-
I have no idea what is going on. ()what()
Am I going insane?
-
^^ 'tis just the ramblings of an inane mind :P
-
but there's nine of those minds!
-
there are plenty of pines in the world
-
Like the Pinsapo Pine, which can be found in Spain
just to make sure the rules are clear, this is change A letter; so nine could become pine but not pines. Also rained to insane didn't work.
-
Dry plains can also be found in Spain.
-
Which can be flown to in planes!
Did I do it right? :D
Ethan
-
If all goes according to plans.
-
I hope you have enough cans... (BTW, Am I doing it right?)
-
Actually no, you can only change a total of one letter each post. You've dropped 2 here. One more time, and you'll be walking the plank. :P
-
Just don't forget to buy a plant at Home Depot.
-
Don't forget the cans of paint.
-
That's the point!
-
^^ input that into your thick skull... &ops ;D
-
Apple will soon release the iPut a revolutionary device which will allow us to physically place any object that we can carry in any location we choose.
-
Then I choose to place the little white ball in the hole using iPut rather than having to putt it into the hole. ;D
(btw, I don't play golf... it's the only sentence I could think of)
-
and then you put down your golf bag
-
......And you're Out!!!!!!!!! :D
-
so you go home and cut the grass
-
... And realized -Alas too late-, the neighbour's cat was napping underneath your lawn mower...
-
But lucky for the cat he was a cat, for being a cat meant he was smart and as sharp as a tack, and sensing that something dangerous was about to happen to him, woke up and ran away.
-
So you decided to follow him... but before you did you had to pack your rucksack full of useful things
-
In went a cake, for example.
("cats like cake, right", wondered our hero...) (http://emoticons2.yolasite.com/resources/joint.gif)
-
and you also packed some coke for yourself
-
In goes some kind of pointy thing, in case the cat hides under something, to poke, um, encourage it out.
-
You also took some poker cards to play with the cat
-
"Do cats play poker?", wondered the functioning part of your brain as, grabbing a coil of rope, you head off in search of the cat.
-
You fall over, but someone was there to help you up, saying 'You poor person'.
-
But it's a hot day, so you forget about the cat and head over to the pool for a swim.
-
But, you are a fool to swim at an icy lake.
-
In the pool, you kick your foot against the side and break it.
-
And while you're waiting for the paramedics, someone gives you some food.
-
...and it's a good food. Yum! ;D
-
Unfortunately it smells so good that it attracts the attention of some dogs who...
-
... like the good food and they stole your old computer with MS-DOS
(is that allowed? :D)
-
the dogs tought: damn! these old stairs where really slippery with all that moss!
-
and the dogs floss their teeth in your bathroom. :P
-
Because even dogs are mindful that ye who flosses never loses their teeth.
[don't forget this is change A letter game (moss - floss is 2 changes)]
-
But even dogs love to eat roses.
-
and who's standing by eating the same roses? A horse, of course.
-
The horse's voice, after eating all those thorns, was very hoarse. ;)
-
And instead of going swimming decided to take a shower.
-
But he then realized you can take a shower in the shore.
-
So he went swimming and had a shower, but upon leaving the sea found he was covered in salt; so he galloped home and washed himself off with a hose.
-
He had a tiring day, so he spent the rest of the evening relaxing in the house.
-
However, in the house he spotted a mouse
-
The mouse was ate by a moose
-
The moose then became a loose animal
-
He went straight to his pal Rocky to get him to fly them to freedom, without fully understanding energy to weight ratios: what a loser!
(ah well, looks like it's prison for me)
-
What's this I see? A flying moose! I'll need to get closer for a better look.
-
Have people lost interest? Perhaps I should check the Oracle.
-
The oracle isn't very clear on the subject, and is demanding more money for further clarification.
-
Clarification? The oracle better come clean and admit she knows nothing.
-
But you sure didn't learn from that oracle.
-
That's not true, I learnt not to burn what I earn there...
-
I think i hear something
-
I hope it's not someone's ear being cut off. :o
