I've been looking for a few textures to replace the standard Maxis El / Subway trains, Passenger train and Freight Engine but I haven't been able to find exactly what I've been looking for.  &mmm

What I've had in mind exactly are these http://www.chicago-l.org/trains/gallery/images/6000/cta6012.jpg and http://www.chicago-l.org/trains/roster/images/2000.jpg for the El / Subway, these http://www.nipponsharyousa.com/products/images/zchicago.jpg and https://chuckmanchicagonostalgia.files.wordpress.com/2010/04/chicago-photo-train-chicago-south-shore-line-new-commuter-cars.jpg for the Passenger, and this for the Freight Engine http://www.irm.org/events/csssb803-400.jpg (I'm a bit of a fan of the older Chicago styled El Trains and the South Shore passenger / freight trains  :D). For the El / Passenger trains one would be replacement and the other would need to be ran as an additional automata from what I've read.

Thanks in advance!

Nice trains   I'd recommend checking vester's uploads as he has a pretty huge variety of light rail and passenger rail automata so there's a chance some of those could already be made. He's quite good with requests too so I'd recommend popping into his thread and asking about it. Welcome to the site :)

The South Shore engine is done as EMD-E /F engine (CSS - VDK Train Mods Vol 14).
The white and green, you might want to have a look at some of the Japanese.
Done a few corrugated steel ones, both one-level and bi-level. Not sure if I did a orange one.

Take a look in my Showcase (link below).

There is a list of train mods.

Next time please include the pictures into your post:

That would look something like this:

Here I just included a width=240. You can click on the images to enlarge them.
It makes the post easier to read.

Wow, you've made a lot of trains, not sure how I missed those. The South Shore engine looks great and is already hauling freight out of my city. The Japanese El trains are a little too modern for my tastes (tried the Keihan 1000 and 13000 and the Green Keiyu). The MN Red and the CZ from volume 11 looks almost exactly like the South Shore passenger trains, however the trains there don't have dedicated engines pulling the cars, they're basically El trains running between cities in the region up there.

Sorry if it seems I'm being stubborn here, I just get picky over details...

Lets see if I can get this right:

If I can find it, I maybe could recolor the JNR 940 for you.
Its base of the JRE KiHa 40:

If there is a configurations of doors and windows you like better. The coloring is not the hard part.
Setting up the texture work file, with shadow and highlights, door, windows etc. which takes time.

The EMU for the South Shore, will have to wait. It needs to remodding.
You could try your luck with some modding, using the models and textures from Volume 11 and insert it into an engine mod.
That is how these are more less done. A few things have been learn and things have been added over time.

Hey thanks for doing this for me!

The door and window layout on the 6000 series car (the first of the two El trains I posted with the two rows of windows) is my personal preference of the two. I also like the maroon and white variant of it in comparison with the green and white.

Also I may try and figure out how to swap the models and textures into an engine mod if I can figure out exactly what needs done. Need to do it for the South Shore freight engine as I realized earlier it replaced the passenger engine and not the freight engine, which was changed to similar one with a different mod.

Try read my post again.

I said that I would reuse the windows and windows from one of the textures released, pointing at the JNR 940 / JRE KiHa 40.

Oh sorry, I see what you mean now. Yeah the windows on the JNR 940 are fine, as for the re-coloring the last picture what I'd like. Also, thanks for the links, I'll see what I can do. Been wanting to try making my own automata, I've just gotten around to it until now.

Sorry there is not open for requests.

I am only doing these few ones, as I have models that matches and textures that is very similar. That means not a lot of works.

The tram: Have a look at the trams from Budapest. A bit brigther yellow  but hi, close.

Actually I live in Fort Wayne but I do frequently go to Chicago for various reasons. Riding the South Shore Line there and the El and subway around is a much quicker and less profanity filled way than driving. :D
