Update for ML Japanese El-Rail Catenaries MOD is available. (#post_MLElRailUpdate)


moonlinghtさんのML Shinkansen MOD用に、既存のモノレール橋梁の外観を変更するパッチを勝手ながら作成いたしました。パッチを導入していただくことで、NAM Essentialsが更新されるたびにNetworkAddonMod_Bridges_Plugin_Controller.datを入れ替える必要がなくなります。添付ファイルをダウンロードし、以下の手順に従い導入してください。


導入手順
1. - ML Shinkansen MOD bridge.datに含まれる橋梁が都市にあれば、念のためファイルを削除する前に撤去してください。
2. - NetworkAddonMod_Bridges_Plugin_Controller.datを公式版に交換(NAM Essentialsを再インストール)し、ML Shinkansen MOD bridge.datを削除してください。
3. - z_Monorail_Bridge_as_ML_Shinkansen_MOD_Bridge.datを/SimCity 4/Plugins/zzzz ML Shinkansen MODなど、NetworkAddonMod_High_Monorail_Plugin.datおよびHSR_Core.datより後にロードされるフォルダーにコピーしてください。

これで完了です。パッチはHSR_Core.datと同じように、橋脚のない橋梁ピースのIDを通常の直線ピースと異なる値に設定することで、直線ピース用の設定が橋梁ピースに反映されるのを防ぎます。

画像はML Shinkansen MOD Fence.datとML Shinkansen MOD ground texture.datをインストールした状態です。パッチ導入後もML Shinkansen MODの各オプションを自由に組み合わせられます。

制限など
- ゲーム標準のモノレール橋梁とNetworkAddonMod_High_Monorail_Plugin.datに含まれる高さ30mのモノレール橋梁にのみ対応します。
- 「橋を選択」に表示される名称とアイコンはモノレールのままとなります。
- ゲーム標準のモノレール橋梁は、スターターピース/パズル・ドラッグ式HSRをインストール後に架橋したものを除いて架け替えが必要です。

これでNAM更新の度にNetworkAddonMod_Bridges_Plugin_Controller.datを弄らなくて済みます :thumbsup:

HSR_core.datの方にこれがあるという事はHSRを使用する時、仮に通常IDだった場合に直線ピースがHSRの高架になってしまうからという事ですよね ()what()
それに気付いていれば私が新規で橋を作ることもなく、ebinaさんにお手数をお掛けする事もなかったのですが :-[
早速当方のブログとReadme、MOD本体のnetwork Lotとアイコンの更新しておきたいと思います。

欲を言うとstart piceがあれば通常の直線ピースと橋ピースの境のフェンスに蓋が出来て抜群によかったんですが元々無いので仕方ないですね。

This mod looks pretty interesting indeed - is that a HSRP conversion that looks like a Shinkansen line? There have been a few requests at SimForum to make the HSR looking more like a German ICE line, and the screenshot you showed would suit that pretty well.

I'll clarify.
In short, moonlight has made a mod containing a visual mod that changes the look of the default monorail to a more Japanese look, as can be seen in the screenshot above. This is compatible with HSR and has track height and widths equal to that of the Shinkansen mod, so stations are mostly interchangeable between the two. Most, if not all of the puzzle pieces for regular monorail has been converted, as well as the tunnels, bridges, and double-height network. This image shows the monorail network after both the ML Shinkansen MOD Fence.dat and the ML Shinkansen MOD ground texture.dat have been installed. It is still possible to mix and match each option for the ML Shinkansen MOD even after the installation of the patch. (Translator's note: enabling ground textures will show a path and some fences underneath.)

Restrictions, etc.
- This patch only changes the game's default monorail bridge and the 30m high monorail bridge included with NetworkAddonMod_High_Monorail_Plugin.dat.
- The icon shown in the bridge selection screen will stay that of regular monorail.
- Default monorail bridges will need to be reconstructed in the game in order to reflect the changes. This excludes bridges made after installation of the current starter-piece style HSR mod.

So if my original mod was used the way it was, in case the HSR was used alongside my mod and the regular ID were applied (for the regular straight pieces), the straight piece (for the regular straight pieces [translater's note: ? If I had noticed that sooner, I wouldn't have had to make a whole new bridge, and inconvenience ebina-san. :-[
I shall get to work editing my blog and the Readme, as well as the icon and the network Lot for the MOD.

If there's one thing I would change, I would add a start piece for the bridge that has a perpendicular fence, for it would cap the path. Though, it wasn't there in the first place, so alas.

I corrected Shinkansen MOD yesterday. It can be downloaded by my blog (http://blog.livedoor.jp/moonlinght/archives/cat_59226.html) when there are interested one in Shinkansen MOD.

This MOD is for change graphics from MAXIS default Mono-Rail's trail to ML's Shinkansen-Rail.
so you need LOT as I wrote above in this case.
However, I don't know a LOT which connect with Mono-Rial to other rails. &mmm
If you want this LOT, you should make it by yourself, I think so.

Subject changed, here's another compatibility update for ML's mod. Attached file is a replacement for a file of the same name in ML Japanese El-Rail Catenaries MOD. Model files for dual networking el-rail have been updated to reflect replaceable sidewalk. Also added new models for the ElRail over URail x PedMall pieces.

Similar to the base/overlay textures of Lot Editor creations, you can change sidewalk textures independently from roadway textures. You only need to create only one set of FSHs to expand your own custom sidewalk texture to these pieces.

I forgot to mention that sidewalk textures can be combined with Maxis version of el-rail models too. Complete set of sidewalk textures will be uploaded when I finished writing a readme.

それでOKです。Network Addon Mod/z_Optionalフォルダー内のファイルはオプションなので、必ずしもインストールする必要はありません。歩道テクスチャは後日単独のModとしてアップロードしますので、和風高架鉄道Modとは別にしておいてください。
それからPMでご連絡いただいた新幹線Modの件、了解しました。パッチは数日中に削除します。


Moonlinght told me that he has incorporated the patch file for ML Shinkansen Mod into updated version of the mod. So I'm going to remove the patch in a few days. Please download updated ML Shinkansen Mod.

Are the catenaries in the pictures above also from Moonlight's site? Or are they from plunderer?
There is a catenary mod of some sort on Moonlights great site, but as I don't read Japanese too well (actually, I can't read it at all), I can't figure this out.
Any help would be appreciated  :)

手間がかかる為製作していません。

Moonlight's Mods are a totally different mod than BTM. For starters he has an El-Rail Facelift Mod that greatly improves the overall look of the default El-Rail networks we get with the game by default as well as giving a facelift to the NAM El-Rail pieces.

His Shinkansen mod is similar to the BTM but offers more :)

The Shinkansen Mod is a spiritual successor to the BTM, but it not a new version of it at all.
ML's one was done independently of both the BTM and the creator of the BTM. It also has better compatibility with a lot of other stuff, though it falls short at bridges, only replacing the decks of two properly.

IMO, The Shinkansen Mod is far better than the BTM thanks to time.

Anyone know if Moonlight-san is still actively developing his mods or not?

I'm asking this because with the newer NAM (Version 30) his ML Elevated Rail facelift has developed several compatibility issues with the NAM.

In this picture, the new Draggable TRAM tracks are showing pillars which are being leaked from the El-R Facelift Mod files.

I really hope Moonlight-san will get to see this so he can update his El-R Facelift mod because admit it, this Mod definitely makes the El-R Better looking than what Maxis initially gave us :(

I forgot to mention, his El-R Facelift mod definitely needs support for the NWM too.

As for his Shinkansen mod for monorail.... thankfully no issues with the newer NAM :)

Yes, he is still creating, I've been following his Japanese-language blog and he has a completely new version in the works, but it's far from complete and the last post was August 5th.

I'm considering distributing a patch for some of the intersections that are now outdated, like the ElRail + RHW-2 one which now shows a checkerboard.

The Maxis pillars appearing is due to the new T21 method of putting them on. As far as I'm aware, Moonlight's mod has a canceller in it anyway, but it doesn't need to replace the Maxis pylons. Finding and removing the T21s (Or, preferably changing the IID it refers to to the IID of Moonlight's Pylon then removing Moonlight's T21s which do the same thing) that put the Maxis pylons back would fix the issue.

As for the new GLR types, that's a side-effect of the method used for the network.

I apologize for reposting this same picture on the NAM Issues thread, but I did so for another purpose. I was also asking if that's how the second style for the GLR Track looked like, having no base texture it seems.... anyway.

For editing the IIDs of stuff.... that's way over my league  ;D I have no knowledge of how to do that & the warning on the beginning of the beginner's guide for the ilives reader totally scared me into even learning. I really can't afford to muck up my game rendering it unplayable if things go wrong when I fiddle with it. As I said, I'll just wait for moonlight-san's newer release when it comes out :)

I'm using NAM v30 + Hotfix Package 301, which is installed under a directory of:

The installation directory of Moonlinght san's 新幹線MOD & 新和風高架鉄道MOD locate at:
C:\Users\Hkboondoggle\Documents\SimCity 4\Plugins\zz_NAM 3rd Party Addon\zzzz ML Shinkansen MOD For NAM August 2010;
and
C:\Users\Hkboondoggle\Documents\SimCity 4\Plugins\zz_NAM 3rd Party Addon\zzzzzzz ML JPN EL Rail MOD n-texture
respectively.

That means the 新和風高架鉄道MOD should be loaded after the NAM & Shinkansen MOD, as stated in the Readme by Moonlinght san. In that case, can anyone help pointing out what had gone wrong? Thanks.

You may need to take out other ELR Catenary mod.

Yup, the ELR Catenary mod seems to be the root of my problem. Just tried out the game with the mod removed & the graphic glitch of Moonlinght san's mod was disappeared. Thanks for pointing out Louis, much obliged!  :thumbsup:

some months ago they would have grown like mushrooms everywhere, but since some time, I don't have any more of them. And that's not the only problem, the texture of the streets in the lot suddenly disappeared.

I have it in my plugin folder, as well as all the dependencies.

yee, these are the lots that have this problem.

So, I re-downloaded the ML textures file, as well as the houses again.. Stangly, they still doesn't seems to appear in my cities. I've run two cities for a long ingame-time, and still nothing is growing. I've set the architecture style to Europe only, as every Japanese building seems to be in this category.

I really have no idea what that problem/bug is..

Next, Assuming you can find it.
Please to plug the MOD you are using usually.                   => check texture

3rd.

4th.
Please to plug texture you are using usually.                     => check texture

Please tell me the number when the texture was disappear ;)

So, I tried the first, and nothing at all. None of your lots appear. Nothing is growing except maxis' houses. And this with only ML textures and ML R$$$ houses in the plugin folder. ( i checked both my documents and steam folder, nothing more than your plugins.)

Here's the test tile I've made, running two years in game, nothing from ML R$$$ is appearing..

I've been invaded by the maxis houses, so I just put in the plugins the BSC block maxis buildings (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=897) ( set as no Commercial and no Residential) as well as the yellow pause thingy removal (http://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/18680-smp-yellow-pause-thingy-remover/) (because it made some graphic glitch when moving in-game) and the plopmatic9000 (http://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/3808-the-plopmatic-9000/) ( to boost the RCI demand)

Nothing more seems to grow on the other zones. ( I used one of each size as per the description of your houses.)

But something interesting is showing just right now!

When i get back in game, the texture on the ground of the 4*6 lot was gone and a swimming pool prop appeared randomly.

     - First being the plopmatic9000 to be removed. Nothing change, the same texture problem is still here, the swimming pool as well, but nothing more is growing. None of your lots seems to grow.

Same thing, nothing changed, the bug is still here, the swimming pool prop as well, and nothing is growing.


     - Now, I'm going to remove the last remaining mod from the plugins, the BSC Block maxis buildings.


Now this is becoming interesting.


the 4*6 houses are back, textures are normal, and the Swimming pool prop is gone, it's all good.
Houses on the 4*5 lot are growing as well.

Seeing some remaining maxis houses, I decided to put all the taxes of the R$$ and R$ to20% ( the maximum) and 1% for the R$$$

Houses on the 4*3 lot grows.
Houses on the 3*4 lot as well.
And after some time a 4*4 lot finally appeared!
But, no houses from the ML R$$$ are growing on the smallest lots.

Well, seeing the problem is gone, I'm going to try to put the previous mods one by one. Started by Plopmatic9000, then yellow pause thingy removal, and finally Block maxis building.

     - Growing all nicely and without any problem with the plopmatic9000 inside the plugins. So it was not this mod.

     - Alright, time to add the yellow pause thingy removal mod. Growing good without problems.

    - Now I'm going to add the last of the three mods. BSC Block Maxis Buildings.

Now, now, what do we have here? The textures are gone.

Well, it looks like there is a conflict between the BSC No maxis building and ML R$$$ Houses. I don't know if it's just on my computer, if it's because my game is in the Steam Library, but there is a problem somewhere... But you say these are over write ? That means they over write the Maxis houses? if so, maybe it's because of that the textures are missing with the BSC no maxis?





On another subject, I have three questions for you.

In the picture below, you have a nice smooth curve for the EL rail.. is it part of one of your mods?

I'd say that whatever Maxis property that the blocker uses is used in the Exemplars for these LOTs. Probably the Parent Cohort was preserved in the clone.

My R$$$ Lot will overwrite the low-rise R$$$ of Maxis ;)
Sorry... &ops I have forgot to write 4x4 Lot. Therefore, they will overwrite 4x5, 4x6, 3x4, 4x3, 4x4, 3x3, 3x2, 2x3, 2x2 MAXIS Lots.

Since my Lots overwrites the R$$$ house of MAXIS, they replaced the texture when use BSC block maxis buildings MOD. At the same time, growth is inhibited by BSC block maxis buildings MOD. And, I think random swimming pool is something due to the impact of Exemplar files contained in the "BSC block maxis buildings MOD" &Thk/(

This is my Shinkansen MOD(monorail). I made modifications to RUL file of NAM because I wanted 90-degree curve and 45-dgree curve, S-curve ;)

I'm curious about the parking lots.. Are these the kind of them that close to the floor? I've seen such things and it looks like it. Like you put a car on the top and then it elevates and you can put another car under!

One remark though, it looks like the roof exit is just up on an apartment. Makes one big terraces. $%Grinno$%

Also the other day I found quite some very HD panoramas and pictures of condominium in the far Osaka's suburbs. I can send them to you if you want. :)

Yeah, this is mechanical parking garage. In Japan, it is seen frequently in a smaller site condominium ;)

I have a question to the other users is it common that over the road it goes back to the monorail or did I missed something during installation?

Update: Adding some "zz" to the folder name solved the problem.

Such mods always need to be loaded at the end, thus the "zz" folders. Glad you found the solutions by yourself! :)

You could go to your first post and change the title in it, as your work is more than just the NAM stuff.
