Thanks for pointing me to your superb MD TeaCat! The region is very good, and you make a beautiful rural village there.

I about to cancel my vacation now because I cannot stand to miss the first updated of this MD, I will sure have to catch up on a lot when I am back  ;)

Each time when I see Irish written, I wish I could read, pronounce and understand it. It gives this MD just the additional touch that I like so much.

Well done my friend  &apls

Honestly, excavating with a front end loader? What do they think they're doing? They'll plow under (or over) so much and what they do find, they won't be able to accurately date... but I digress from what brought me here (what else is new?) and that would be another great update. You continue to have a great story line with quite a bit of humor (the smiting of the vicar's daughter was to be expected...). The details of the pics are also good. How long did it take you to put together the ruins area? Was it piece by piece, one big lot in the LE, or a combination of both? Whatever the answer may be, it looks great by the pond. I'll be looking forward to the next update, but in the meantime, take it easy.

Well I never said they were clever $%Grinno$% I just take the pics  :D
Thank you Its just a mad collection of tales, some based on fact, some not and some some from the little leprechaun in the corner ;)
As for the ruins it took me about 275 games years the first time :D and you wont have long to wait for the next update.
As for taking it easy - I always do
And when I get it easy  :) I take it twice  :D

Merci mon ami, all places have a rich and diverse history - you just gotta dig deep enough to find it and then tell it as it is ;)

Last evening Dr. Hurd Dem gave a question and answer talk at the local Pit and Balcony theatre.
Here are a few of the more Notable comments made last night at the

Ask the Doc. - HEALTH QUESTION & ANSWER SESSION

Q: I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life; is this true?

A: Your heart is only good for so many beats, and that's it..... don't waste them on exercise.
Everything wears out eventually. Speeding up your heart will not make you live longer;
that's like saying you can extend the life of your car by driving it faster. Want to live longer? Take a nap.

Q: Should I cut down on meat and eat more fruits and vegetables?

A: You must grasp logistical efficiencies. What does a cow eat? Hay and corn.
And what are these? Vegetables. So a steak is nothing more than an efficient mechanism of
delivering vegetables to your system. Need grain? Eat chicken.
Beef is also a good source of field grass (green leafy vegetable). And a pork chop can give you
100% of your recommended daily allowance of vegetable products.

Q: Should I reduce my alcohol intake?

A: No, not at all. Wine is made from fruit. Brandy is distilled wine, that
means they take the water out of the fruity bit so you get even more of the
goodness that way. Beer is also made out of grain. Bottoms up!

Q: How can I calculate my body/fat ratio?

A: Well, if you have a body and you have fat, your ratio is one to one.
If you have two bodies, your ratio is two to one, etc.

Q: What are some of the advantages of participating in a regular exercise program?

A: Can't think of a single one, sorry. My philosophy is: No Pain...Good!

Q: Aren't fried foods bad for you?

A: YOU'RE NOT LISTENING!!!... Foods are fried these days in vegetable oil.
In fact, they're permeated in it. How could getting more vegetables be bad
for you?

Q: Will sit-ups help prevent me from getting a little soft around the middle?

A: Definitely not! When you exercise a muscle, it gets bigger. You should only
be doing sit-ups if you want a bigger stomach.

Q: Is chocolate bad for me?

A: Are you crazy? HELLO . Cocoa beans! Another vegetable!!! It's the best
feel-good food around!

Q: Is swimming good for your figure?

A: If swimming is good for your figure, explain whales to me.

Q: Is getting in-shape important for my lifestyle?

A: Hey! 'Round' is a shape!

Well, I hope this has cleared up any misconceptions you may have had about
food and diets.

And remember:

"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely
in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways -
Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other
- body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming
"WOO HOO, What a Ride"

Pit and balcony last night packed to to rafters.

"Welcome back to the News at TeaTime."

Ultimate Battle Ends in Shock

The battle between Good and Evil ended unexpectedly today,
when David Hasselhoff admitted defeat on behalf of Good.

"We tried to tie this up back in the seventies." David said, "But the results were
too close to call. It's taken us twenty years for a re-count, and now that all the
souls have been tallied and independently verified, we have no choice but to
admit defeat."

"A lot of us are pretty surprised." David continued. "We kinda figured it would go our
way in the end. I know a lot of guys put their faith in the Revelation of Saint John,
and I just want to thank them for all their help and hard work."

David Hasselhoff, who stunned onlookers this morning by identifying himself as God's representative on earth,
was in reconciliatory mood. "Now that the final result is in,
I'd just like to congratulate Emma and all those folks who campaigned on behalf of Evil,
but this has been a partisan campaign, and I think now we need to work together to
heal old wounds and move forward with unity."

Emma Bunton announced to waiting press that David Hasselhoff had telephoned her
that morning to concede defeat. "We're very happy to have taken over the world and
the heavens with such an overwhelming mandate." She told our reporter this lunchtime.
"With the contest out of the way, I think we will be free to introduce a wide range of changes across the board.
I think the Champaign corks will be flying in Hades tonight."

When asked about her true identity as the Antichrist, Emma said, "I realise it must
come as a shock to most people, but the clues were there if you cared to look."

Earlier today, a large percentage of the population disappeared in what many critics
are already dismissing as the Rapture Lottery. "We just didn't know who to take."
David Hasselhoff told the world's media. "Standards have changed a lot since the days
in which the criteria for acceptance into heaven were first established. People today
just don't have the same sort of faith as they did two thousand years ago. In the end
we just had to take a cross section in the fairest way we could think of."

As most readers will know, that method involved a rapture which took everyone in the
world whose surname began with the letter "H". Today has marked a series of disappearances,
notably Australian singer and comedian Rolf Harris, Former leader of
the Conservative Party William Hague, and Hollywood star Tom Hanks.

"We tried to pick a letter that nobody would really miss." David Hasselhoff told frantic interviewers.
"We really couldn't think of many other letters that would have such little impact."

Already though, there have been calls for an investigation into the procedure. Numerous sources have accused
David Hasselhoff of nepotism, and rigging the result to make sure
his family were selected. These were claims which he denied, adding,
"This is absolutely ridiculous. I'm the right hand man of God, not George Bush."

The effects of Evil triumphing over Good have already had far reaching consequences.
In Holmfirth, West Muskerry, a group of farmers complained that they were being ordered
to hammer out their plough shares into swords.
"We're just not trained for this sort of work." Albert Bullspittle told our
Agricultural Correspondent. "It'll be the ruin of us."

But the news wasn't all bad. Mr Bullspittle did concede one positive point. "At least now
we don't have to worry about lions lying down with our lambs.
If you've ever had to queue up for fifteen pounds of fresh
gazelle meat down at
Ted Hinchcliffe's butchers shop, you'll know what I mean."

But not everyone seemed too distressed by events. In a press conference earlier today,
George W Bush said, "We've met with Ms Bunton who has formerly informed us that Satan is now
in charge of heaven and earth. Although this is a shock to most of us, I have been notified that
The Lord of The Flies is pretty happy with the way we're doing things right now, so there should be
no significant change of policy."

More news as it breaks.

Local Boys Make Good

Five Buddhist Monks from Holmfirth Monastery were hailed as local heroes today,
when they beat the reigning champions from Mushotoku Monastery in Tibet in the
World Series Zen Quizmaster Challenge.

Tense scenes at the Quiz final

Jeremy Paxman chaired a lively session of quickfire questions for over an hour,
as the Holmfirth lads took the title by 86 points to 84.

During one of the many highlights, Jeremy asked the bonus question,
"What is enlightenment like?" to be told
"Why do you want to know? You might not like it."

The score was tied, and with the final question being offered to Master Joshu of
Mushotoku, it looked as if defeat for the local team was inevitable. However, he got
the answer wrong and Holmfirth were able to steal the competition. "I'm gutted."
Joshu told our reporter. "I could have sworn The Specials sang "Our Lips are sealed"

Taisekuri Larkbottom, a local Zen Master was delighted. "It was well obvious that it
was Fun Boy Three!"

Dorf Motor Company has acted uncompetitively

The European Commission has decided that the Dorf Motor Company has acted uncompetitively
by fitting brakes as standard to its production line cars.
In a statement issued by the European Union High Court,
Fhilippe Le Proag said that there were many other manufacturers of brake parts that were losing out due to
Dorf's unfair domination of the market.

From now on, Dorf  will have to make a version of all their cars available without brakes,
so that new buyers will be able to fork out an additional $1267 for new braking systems
of their choice.

"This is a great day for competitive practice." The chairman of Succs Brakes announced.
"From now on, People will no longer be forced to accept Dorf  brakes. Motorists are
finally able to buy their cars break-free, and now they are even free to choose to
drive without them."

A spokesman from the Commission for Common Sense withdrew and shot himself in
the head.

Unusual Court Ruling

A man and his wife were getting a divorce at a local court. But the
custody of their children posed a problem.
The mother jumped to her feet and protested to the judge that since
she had brought the children into this world, she should retain custody of them.
The man also wanted custody of his children. The judge asked for his side of the story too.

After a long moment of silence, the man rose from the chair and replied: Judge, when
I put a dollar into a vending machine, and a Pepsi comes out, does the Pepsi belong
to me or to the machine?"

Don't laugh, he won

And Finally Todays thought to ponder on!
The future for the Elderly

There is more money being spent on breast implants and Disney than on
Alzheimer's research. This means that by 2030, there should be a large elderly
population with perky boobs and huge erections and absolutely no recollection of
what to do with them. ;D

Mavis said "No comment" but she had this weird smile on her face
