The last building is excellent and very realistic. One thing that I find odd is that the floor inside the building is too visible. Are you done with window textures, yet?

Je vais essayer en francais: excellent bat, mais j´ai l´impression que le plancher dans le batiment est un petit peu trop visible. As-tu déjà finis les textures des fenetres?

Post by: Nardo69 on December 28, 2009, 01:59:01 PM

Mancho, I love that station building, it looks like a lot of stations I saw in France and is also very useful for German railway lines (you know I am German and my MD is situated somewhere in Germany)

I do really look forward to use it in my MD.

Hopefully I haven't made too much mistakes. My French knowledge is a bit rusty these days ....

Salut, mon ami!

Bernhard

For the station she will be in exchange but not now she is in the vol.06 of my pack and i have not put in the LEX the vol.05 ! looks brilliant manchou &apls
I love the corrugated roof although maybe the corrugations themselves are slightly wide. What's the material on the sliding doors? Are they newer (than the roof) corrugated doors? They look a little bland in comparison to the awesome textures everywhere else and maybe could do with some more definition. I feel uneasy about giving advice to someone producing such amazing work but that's what stands out to me.

Thanks a lot  ()stsfd() ! To the corrugated roof, for me it's not too slightly !But for the door i'm agree the texture is too bland ;) ! I can change that ! and the material it is steel !

Post by: gottago on January 14, 2010, 12:01:03 PM
Wonderful work Manchou! The textures are really excellent!

Since you asked for comments on details... ::) ...

The wide 3-panel door or window on the backside under the red tile roof looks like a flat texture. The vertical piers need to be modeled to give it some depth.

In the opening on the far right of the back side, there looks like there is no texture on the inside wall.

Also, the glass on the red front door to the left looks too transparent--you see the wall and floor inside too clearly for a daytime view.

It would be good to see a bit of something inside the big shed--boxes or anything at all.

And the back porch looks a bit too clean for such an old building, and maybe a railing would add more interest.

But these are indeed details, the BAT is really wonderful!

Looks great to me Manchou
I agree it would be nice to see something inside, that is if it's still in use...

I particularly like the effect you've achieved on the walls here, where the outside layer is slowly breaking away; you ever thought of doing a texture tutorial?

I don't understand this sentence ! But all of my "box" are textured :) !

Euh ^^ ! My english is not very good for ths moment but yes a day i can do a tutorial about doing textures ! To do a good texture is not difficult, if you have good eyes, and you observ real building you can reproduce the texture with details !

Nice work manchou

I don't know if it was worth three days to get that shutter closed but hopefully now you know how to do it & it will be easy next time. I want to learn how to make buildings have multiple versions as well, with my winery it would ideally be lit up at night only in feb-april. Is what you've done with the shutters what I would need to do for the winery? I know english is not your first language but hopefully you understand what I'm saying.

Also I noticed you say you are doing your buildings in HD? I thought the consensus was that buildings were too big for HD...? Will you release an SD version as well? Regardless I love your creations and keep going. :)

Yes my BAT are in HD only and it's true, my BAT a bit big for export them in HD but i prefere HD  ::) And no i don't release an SD verion only HD !

I did 3 BAT with day/night version ! But with a BAT you can't lit up in feb-april ^^ but if your BAT is a prop you can with timed prop ! there is a tutorial about it ! For my shutter it's an another technic : i have replace the FSH of the night view  ;)

they are beautiful trees. perhaps a couple more to make up a larger set would be needed as they are very distinctive.

Those are some lovely trees you have there. Like the fact they are seasonal, as it adds to the realism a bit more. The main part I enjoy most is the roots & trunk area that you detailed.

Also I noticed the barb fence in the background, and haven't seen that before. %confuso

Your BATs are always excellent!

I have noticed that especially the texturing is superb! Apart from the texture selection and/or manipulation, this must also have to do with how these are applied. Many members have been complaining about loss of detail. But yours are crispy! I have posted some suggestions in this thread (http://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=3757.0). I would like to ask you to take a look and tell us about your experiences. Believe me, this would be very helpful to many BATters, as you seem to be one step or two ahead of all others here!

I assume that's all your work (minus the cows perhaps) Those fences are amazing. What are you using to get the edges of your streets like that? And the house with the extension added is great, with your usual irresistible textures. Nice tree too, all in all the scene is brimming with character, and I look forward to having a play with some of it myself...

I agree with Nardo about the road textures, but would like to see you make it without textures in the middle so we could use whichever network we wanted through it. Also a longer version would be great too. Nice work.

Your bridge mask will be a great hit for sure.  I would suggest that you make the out side wall thicker to cover that rail.
Also...I wonder/hope you make other versions to cover and go over other networks.  ;)

Yes it is, HD allows for much more details, and rendering is better !

Quote from: Nardo69 Love that bridge.  &apls

I just would like to suggest soem small points:

    * Instead of that road texture a plaster would look better. The SAM plaster would be ok, but a special plaster made of natural stone according to the bridge's masonry would look better.
    * Those old bridges usually are smaller than today's road hence forming a bottleneck. I would love to see that bridge as narrow as possible just covering the NAM overpasses, or even smaller as eyecandy.
    * I would also like to see it two or three fields wide for crossings a river or creek.
    * I can also imagine this bridge as a railway overpass over a river or creek.

Take care - and don't forget to make backups!
Thanks you very much , i can't change this texture of road, because it is a network of NAM, and i can't be change that, and this bridge is not an eyecandy bridge, it's functional ! But i'll project to do som other bridge eyecandy or not, and this several length !

It remindes me some of the churches from Assassin's Creed 2, specially the side arch/columns over the inferior roof.

For the road signs, I really think HD will be a necessity in order to make it work at the closest zoom .

Une_ame: Thanks, but is not a beginning, the rest of my BAT is hide  :D and is not a Longwy's church ;)
Yes the HD is necessary at this zoom, but with me there is no problem, all of my creations are in HD

Myself.or.? Big thank, i'm really happy if you like my textures, i spend lot of time on those textures  ::)

Scurius: Thanks my friend
