Pictures of Railway

Hi

Cause I`m a railway-freak, I open this thread, where you can show us your pictures of trains. If you are german, dutch, america, or what else it`s not important, just show it here.

I start with a picture of a eurobahn Class 643 in Espelkamp running to Rahden:

I live right next to the train station. Sometimes when I am bored I get a coffee and a book and sit down at one of the platforms watching the trains and people. After seeing this thread I decided to bring my camera. I took many pictures. Sorry.  &ops
At first, I was reluctant to take pictures. But I was pleasantly surprised that the train drivers where actually very nice. Many of them were even greeting me.

I wanted to get a picture of this old loco because I liked its color. However, I almost got in serious trouble. Apparently I trespassed railway premises while trying to get a good angle. Two security guards, alarmed by the police, approached me and asked me to leave. Nevertheless, they were very friendly and understanding. To my defense: Usually there are signs, where you are not allowed to walk further. But there was no sign. I had no idea I wasn't allowed to walk there.

Track to nowhere.

The abonded engine shed. It is used for concerts now.

Railway employee crossing the tracks. I am sure his safety vest will protect him from all dangers.

A Swiss train.

Looks comfy.

nice pics...where is it? I think near munich, am I right?

But it is normal, that you musn't cross open railways. It is just allowed at special areas like railway crossings.

I did not cross the tracks. I was walking along a footpath next to the tracks towards the switch tower.

I like those american freight locos. Especially the first one with the cab on the rear. Doesn't make much sense but looks great.
