Title: Cities XXL
Post by: threestooges on February 05, 2015, 11:28:55 PM
A guy I follow on Youtube: BdoubleO100, just launched a new series: Cities XXL (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9YBvCRtSYE) that looks quasi promising. Anyone had any experience with it so far?

Hey, I follow BDoubleO too :)
Quill18 however has posted a damning review of Cities XXL here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fmzHCB4O8PI), however. His main complaint is lots of framerate drops while drawing roads or new zones

Still no rail (you can fake it, but it's just that .. fake), it's what made it hard for me to play CitiesXL platinum and essentially it's the same game with a new(ish) UI slapped on and improved performance(in theory, but I guess time will tell). I also worry about support for the game. The publisher is known for a hit and run approach. I'm holding out for Cities: Skylines.

The Steam reviews for it are "Mostly Negative", with most stating that it's just the "same old same old" with a few new buildings and a recoloured GUI.  What essentially should be a free update is being sold for £30 as a new game.
