I'm from Cecilia, a small town in the heart of Cajun Country here in south Louisiana, USA.

Doc: Originally, I put the countries and states in the order in which people posted in the thread. Pennsylvania is first because I started the thread and am from Pennsylvania. Maryland is third because it was the third state listed by someone in a post. There were no numbers or hierarchy that I'd been working with, the country/state was added to the bottom of the list when someone posted it. You did, however, read my mind with going through and counting how many members of each state and country that have been posted, and here it is.

United States (22)

Canada (5)

The Netherlands (4)

Sweden (4)

United Kingdom (4)

France (3)

Germany (2)

New Zealand (2)

South Africa (2)

Australia (1)

Czech Republic (1)

Denmark (1)

Finland (1)

Japan (1)

Mexico (1)

Portugal (1)

Spain (1)

Texas (4)

California (3)

Virginia (2)

Wisconsin (2)

Alaska (1)

Indiana (1)

Louisiana (1)

Maryland (1)

Michigan (1)

Nevada (1)

Ohio (1)

Pennsylvania (1)

South Carolina (1)

Tennessee (1)

Vermont (1)

NOTE: When multiple countries/states have the same number of posts (e.g. Ohio and Pennsylvania), I have placed them in alphabetical order to avoid any bias.

Hey all, I am from the City of New York. It's in the United States, I guess.

I have to admit I have always been a little surprised by the large size of the Netherlands SC4 community, which seems to be reflected here. I am not entirely sure why, to be honest.

I'm from the United States, in the state of Oregon (and darn proud of it ), right now in the city of Eugene (population around 150,000).
Lived in Oregon almost my entire life, aside from a couple years I spent "up north" in Washington.

And for you Simpsons enthusiasts out there, Matt Groening spent some of his formative years here. And the town that's basically glued onto the east end of Eugene just so happens to be called Springfield . . . coincidence? $%Grinno$%

Cali

love the simpsons! thanks for that tidbit tarkus ;D

Thundercrack, I'm going to have to watch out for you and Doc, you guys read my mind, I too was curious about the numbers of responders from each country/state.... &mmm

Don't forget Norway; I'm currently living in Kristiansand.

Iceland isn't a part of Scandinavia (only Denmark, Norway and Sweden), but is a part of the Nordic countries (which also covers Finland and the Faroe Islands).

thundercrack83

OK, we've got a few more to add to the list...

United States (22)

Canada (5)

The Netherlands (4)

Sweden (4)

United Kingdom (4)

France (3)

Germany (2)

New Zealand (2)

South Africa (2)

Australia (1)

Czech Republic (1)

Denmark (1)

Finland (1)

Japan (1)

Mexico (1)

Norway (1)

Portugal (1)

Spain (1)

Texas (4)

California (3)

Virginia (2)

Wisconsin (2)

Alaska (1)

Indiana (1)

Louisiana (1)

Maryland (1)

Michigan (1)

Nevada (1)

New York (1)

Ohio (1)

Oregon (1)

Pennsylvania (1)

South Carolina (1)

Tennessee (1)

Vermont (1)

Again, let me point out that countries/states with the same amount of posts are listed in alphabetical order to avoid bias (well, all bias except alphabetical bias. All those who live in places starting with "Z" should blame the alphabet).

Tarkus: I never knew that Matt Groening was from Oregon, or that there was a town called Springfield there (that doesn't surprise me, though, I think there may be a Springfield in every state). Thanks for bringing Oregon to the list!
Fred_Ginger: Welcome to the "Weird Fascination with Statistics Club!" Soon, Doc and I will be making jackets...
krbe: Velkommen! Thanks for straightening me out on Scandinavia, too.

Glad to see everything in its right place. Otherwise, we'd be in limbo. :D
Looks like Texas is winning out in terms of states. Doesn't really surprise me.

And yes, Frankie, Matt Groening also did Futurama. Another fantastic show as far as I'm concerned.

I am in Phoenix, Arizona, USA! Went to university at Arizona State University (Go Sun Devils!) and now work for them. I was born in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada then moved to Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island then to Lewistown, Illinois, USA then to Champaign, Illinois where I STARTED college. I moved to Phoenix after I visited the ASU campus and saw all kinds of hot, mostly naked, young women walking around the end of February 1997. By comparison the University of Illinois had 2 feet of snow. I transfered that next fall semester. :D
