Hey all,

I'm at a loss as to what I change. What I have is quite a few lots that are in the SC4 menu but when I got to damn them the folder shows it's empty. But it's not. So obviously the lotter has set it so it only shows in SC4. Is there a setting I can change in ILIVE that will let me view and place it in the DAMN? They are in several places like power, rewards, misc. trans. ect.

I'd appreciate someone pointing me to the setting in ILIve. There are so many I have no clue which one. Nothing stands out as obvious to me.

Hi Brad,

I'm not sure what exactly is going on here. I assume that you made the items in question a DAMN menu using either the SSP tool or Yild's DAMN Menu Creator?

There's only one property I'm aware of that DAMN alters, but this is the LOT Resource Type Key (?); deleting it removes the lot in question from the SC4 menus, so that it only appears in DAMN and removes unnecessary clutter. There isn't an actual reader setting to make sure the stuff shows up in DAMN, but it is important to remember (as Daeley points out in his readme), all files need to be placed in the actual SC4 Plugins folder (preferably the My Documents one), as the DAMN support structure is used only for menu organization, not actually referencing plugins.

What are you trying to place in your city that DAMN isn't working for? A good quick test is either KOSC's parking, or RTMT since both come with pre-made DAMN menus that you can test out and review to see where the difference is in your own stuff.

actually two lots come to mind at the moment both at Simtrop. there are a few others but don't come to mind at the moment. Had to remove them from the damn a while ago.

1. FrankU's Danish radio station
2. JasonCW's anchor bar.

All are under MyDocs/plugins anchor bar has no depend. and is really basic I don't understand why it won't work in the DAMN.
Yes I used Damn to create the menu. I use the Damn to create all entries/menus.
I will check out rtmt's  pre-made menu. Is that here? I was also looking for Pim-x to download but can't find it here.

Hmm, were those your posts over at ST?

RTMT DAMN menu is in either 3.5 or 3.6 addon. I would recommend having as much RTMT as possible (I think it's 3.5 with 3.60 bolted on top), since it's very useful and has a lot of options for the user. Also the DAMN menu is invaluable, and comes with one of the two plugins. It will be obvious which one has it (it says in the description).

I am at a loss for words as to the solution (or the issue). It appears there are two problems:
1. Some lots don't like being DAMNed (fair enough; I wouldn't want to be damned either %wrd)
2. Some lots don't show up in DAMN Manager at all when you go to put them into DAMN Menus. They are not being recognized as valid lots.

A few things to try right off the bat: DM is based off of the SSP Tool, by Stefan which is available on the LEX. Try and see if it works at detecting those lots

Can you induce detection by putting the disappearing lots into an empty plugins folder (rename the existing plugins folder to something else, and then create a new one)?

There is no parameter that I am aware of that will prevent DAMN from seeing the lot. If you can open it in ILive's, you can view it with the DAMN (theoretically, obviously). Not sure what to say about the lots that cause CTDs out of the DAMN menu. As a check, does the LotPlop or BuildingPlop cheat work with these buildings? Honestly though, when it comes to those bits I have no idea.

As a last resort, you can always use the DTK and manually write up the menus for the invisible lots. This was what Daeley had to do for the base DAMN sets that come with a standard DAMN install.

great thanks for the suggestions!

Yes those were my posts on Simtrop. Even the lotters don't understand why it happens. I will try with SSPtools and see if that works.
I will also try a clean plugins and see if that works. It wouldn't be a big surprise if some mod is messing it up.

What is DTK?

Yes those cheats do work the plopping ones anyway. I played with those here not so long ago. Everything did plop. Even some I forgot I had, damn SC4 menus are so long! That's why I went with the Damn what a difference now I can actually find lots now and not spend half my time scrolling.

I'll also jump into RTMT and see how that works out. That will make a dent.

DTK is the DAMN Tool Kit, which is basically just a set of instructions that tells you how to manually make DAMN menus using the Reader, Excel, and Notepad/a txt editor.

A GUI is far more intuitive, but if it really comes down to it, you can always go back to basics. I thought that the DTK was packaged with DAMN, but it could be a separate download on the LEX.

Thanks yes it is a separate download. Looks like not to much fun doing it manually.

As for the Damn menu, you were correct to use SSPTools, it worked out great got all those lots I couldn't get in otherwise to work. No more CTD's.
Thanks for the suggestions!
