Okay, so im starting another MD. This one is entitled Planning Evanston
Okay, here we go....

EVANSTON COUNTY

Evanston County was one of the two counties within Cedardale.
When Cedardale Declared Independance, Evanston was not included in the claus declaring the independance.
Evanston County is now a county in West Central Virginia. Virginia Now has complete jurisdiction over the affairs of Evanston.
This CJ will be focusing on the development of Evanston, and the conflict between the two CJ's

http://www.simtropolis.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=36&threadid=107895&enterthread=y

Part One:
PLANNING EVANSTON:

Evanston will be my first Large City CJ, so i took a different angle of attack when starting development. I am planning to start each individual area, and build on that.
THese are old pics before i revamped the region:

Pics from when i redid the region:

This is Coventry, a city bloc to the north of Evanston, the potential CBD
Today, we will be looking at the networking in Coventry

Rail goes in first, just like RL

Now for surface roads, built later than rails; and highways, a dominant form of transportation

REGION VIEW!!!!! Tongue

Enjoy...
comment, critique, rate yell at me, suggest all of that...!
Thanks for reading!!!!

Looks like a decent start!  thumbsup
if I may suggest, try using the NAM curves a bit more. These maxis curves for highways/railways look kinda, un-realistic.

Good luck!

Try to use photobucket.
There you can resize your pictures.

REPLIES!

Glowball:Thanks for visiting and commenting! I will use the FAR, FARR, NAM Curves and such a lot more in suburbs and rural areas, theres just no room in the center, and the transparent bases throw me off!

Nexis4Jersey, I have slope mod, but no terrain mod, i coulld check into it. Where do you think the roads/ rails are steep?

Glowball 2: I used to use Photobucket

Nexis4Jersey: I use imageshack! Satisfied

djvandrake: Yes, yes it is! Tongue I hope to see it develope as well!!!

Tomas Neto: Thanks!!!

Excellent start!  You've put some great planning into this already! That's quite the railway network already.

The transportation systems you've done so far are turning out quite nicely.  I can only guess to how the rest of the region will look.

The transportation so far does look really well laid out.
It will be interesting to see how you fill it all in.

I like the layout of the termnals.  That runway in the second pic is a bit far away?  How many runways are you planning?

Good stuff!  thumbsup
