Whoa, this is going to be gorgeous (already is, in fact!). One question, though, how did you get white-sand beaches in the first two photos but not in the third? Is there a "selective" beach mod out there I missed?

Until next time...

Looking good Urban, that second picture is beautiful.  &apls

@nova: Thanks for dropping by,
I'm glad you like it. In my opinion the gardens of the houses
are always to small, so I try to make them bigger.

@Russell: Thanks for visiting.
The 2nd pictures shows Kudrow Island,
wich is still in development,
but I'm glad you like it already.

@kimcar: Kudrow Island is going to be shown
within the next Updates, thx for dropping by.

@thundercrack: I thank you for those kind words and
I hope you will enjoy the following pictures as well.

@pat: Thanks! More is coming!
There are some Updates at the planning stage.

@Joan: Thanks for dropping in again!
I just have one beach mod, all of the beaches are white,
but the beach in the third picture isn't a beach, those are cliffs.
That's why they are brown and not white, this is the whole trick.

@Dave: Nice to see you, the Island is in the final stage
and is going to be presented soon.

Port Diamond
Part 1

The city Port Diamond is located on the island's east cape. It replaces the former city Taladriel.

In the east part of Port Diamond you find the Lafaya Beach and a part of the City, called Oceanside, with the Green Bay Park, the Hospital and the more expensive residental areas on the hills.

The Silverstar Beach is the smallest but one of the most popular beaches,
the parking lot offers space for your car, but if you come after 11am there won't be any parking spot left.

A view northwards, you can see Oceanside again, the beach on the left is Lafaya Beach,
the one on the right is President Beach, less crowded and more rural.
On the right side you can see the residental area Diamond Hills.

A closer look on the Diamond Hills

View on the western part of the city, you can see the MS Voyager,
wich belongs to the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line.
Cruisers like this one bring thousands of tourists to the Island everyday.
In the pictures centre you can see the old church and the town hall. On the bottom edge is the

Diamond Golf and Country Club

The Diamond Golf and Country Club, a five star luxury property,
is located above Port Diamond with an amazing view on the city,
the bay and the ocean. Built in 1927, completely refurbished in 1998,
it is now considered a National Monument.

All the Suites are equipped with King size beds, a working area,
Minibar, three telephone extensions,
voice mail, electronic security box, 110/220 voltage, 25" cable TV,
dataport and Internet access, air conditioning and heating System,
and other special amenities.

At the Diamond Golf and Country Club, the pleasure of luxury is celebrated,
cultivated and expressed in three different venues supervised by the
world-renowned Chef Alain Ducasse; each combining the art of living
with delicious cuisine in a unique way.

The intuitive warmth of the 120 staff members also anticipates your
every need with passion.

Oooh wow,

Port Diamond looks astonishing. The beaches, the greenery, it really is paradise.
The Golf and country club also looks splendid. and if that is not enough you have managed to hire Alain Ducasse no less. I would love to swing some wood and iron just to kill some time before lunch there.

wonderful. :thumbsup:

Your beach-to-cliff transitions are amazing and innovative. I've never seen that technique used before.
And that was a great update you presented. If you intended to create a lush and luxurious atmosphere, you've done a stupendous job.  :thumbsup: Even the watercolor above the replies section adds to the overall atmosphere. If signed and numbered copies are available in one of the gift shops, I'll get the personal jet gassed up and be on my way.

Until next time...

Absolutely amazing! You have definitely capture the essence of the tropical islands, my friend! Excellent update! I'll be looking forward to seeing more!

Wonderful pictures of that tropical island, urban! Fantastic overview(s)! :thumbsup:

Super work.  I love the shape of the land it looks very realistic and not over terraformed.  The coastlines are very nice, as well as the beaches.  The irregular shaped farms and the large forests around them fit superbly.  The golf coarse is outstanding, everything fits together quite well.  Great work!

Robin   :thumbsup:
Call me Robin, please.

David, great work. I am always impressed by your shorelines, they look so realistic and you must put in a lot of effort to get them just right. &apls

The country club and accompanying description is well done. :thumbsup:

I pity the guy using his helicoptor to search the lake for his lost golf balls, they must be good ones  :)

Looking forward to more

Cheers

My goodness, this a place for the happy few! The beach, the club, the residential areas are so appealing - a condo in one of those buildings costs a fortune probably ...

Well done!  &apls

@Strechnitz: I am glad you like it and thanks for those nice words.
It was not easy to get Alain Ducasse but we made him an offer he could not resist.

@Joan:
thanks for visiting again. You will be surprised but
I really intended to creat a luxury paradise :P I know,
that realism needs poor people too, but I play in an utopian world...
You can order the painting and a lot more souvenirs at

@pat: Thanks for the compliments and for dropping by.

@thundercrack: I feel honored by your words and
I'm glad you like it.

@bat: Thanks to you too.

@Robin: I was really concerned about terraforming and
all that kind of stuff, I'm glad you like it...
The farms and the forest took forever vut it was worth it I guess...

@Dave: I am honored by your words too, the shores take a long time
to be created as they are seen, since the terraformer can't to it the way
I want them to be. The guy in the helicopter is Abdullah of Saudi Arabia,
he lost his golden golf bals with diamonds in the lake.

@sebes: Thanks for the applause, the flats are not
the most expenisve ones but they aren't cheap either...

@nova vesfalo
: Also I am honored by your comment,
I'm glad you like it.

@all: There are some things going on with this MD,
I will tell you more about it tomorrow.

Discover a new paradise:
Walker's Island

Hey everyone

I will not continue with the Durewan Antilles,
the Islands have been an experimental project.
I have learned a lot in the last months and
I want to create an even more tropical better Island.
I have started a new region, called Walker's Island
(named after Karen Walker from Will&Grace :P).
The Antilles have many places wich need to be redone and
I thought that I could restart then anyway, so
let's discover a new paradise :)

I will start with a preview, since most of the places are not ready yet (of course)
There will be more pictures and more information about Walker's Island soon.
