I'm currently rebuilding Ilitj, capital of the Socialist State of Rodina

Some pictures from Krilim, the north-east part of the city:

..and another project is of course setting up a city journal on this site..  :satisfied:

This is a terriform project that is begining to get out of hand. I was experimenting with terriforming a quad by raising it, then lowering it one notch to get water, and the correct elevation for seaports. Then the rest just started. It is a representation of a Florida like setting with A1A in the foreground, the intracoastal waterway and the interstate. I just started this last night, it isn't very far along. I appologise for the fuzzy image, it is a merge of two screenies and some Corel cleanup. A closeup of possibilities is included.

sepsis - looks like the rebuilding is going well.

shoreman - looks like you're off to a good start.

I've been working on rebuilding the city of Ralston.  Currently, I've gutted the downtown and suburb directly east in order to start an extensive rebuilding... things are looking good.  Here's two closeups of some detail work I've been doing:

[This pic has been run through a couple of different Photoshop filters]

You're telling me I get to be home for more than 12 months?

Hi everyone:

I'm sorry I haven't kept up on the new posts.  I've got some good news and some bad news.  First the bad news.  I had some slider bar problems in my first city I posted here.  The slider bar on my fire stations would not stay up.  It kept creeping down to zero and I would get a fireman's riot every couple of minutes.  It became a real thorn in the old side!  I asked for some help in another forum and I tried doing everything they suggested and I could not correct the problem.  Sooooooo   I gave it the old "CONTROL SHIFT O"

Now the good news.  I've started another map.  One good thing about belonging to a SC4 site, a good map is just a click away.

I downloaded a new map.  It's a biggie, 228 cities in total.  I've been bringing up cities, planting forests, and then saving the durn things.  It takes FOREVER!  I finally finished the last city/god mode a couple of days ago and am now in the preliminary planing stages for a new city.  I've laid down a couple of freeways, connecting them to the neighbors and have decided to try my first sea port.  I'll post some pics when I have something to show.

Masochist  Slopes can cause some real problems.  It looks like you're doing a good job working with them.  I worked on Jeroni's slope city for a couple of weeks and know what you're facing.  Keep up the good work.  I'll be interested to see the next posts.

Sepsis I like how you've handled the train station.  Great use of bus stops and water feature.  It looks great.  &apls I also like the stadium.  I followed your linkie but had the same problem as other downloaders.  I don't know what happened but I got the same corrupt file message that the other guys got.  I tried to follow the thread and see if it was resolved but I couldn't find a solution.  Soooo, I guess I'll do without that terrific looking stadium.

Shoremaster VERY interesting seaport treatment.  Very unique &apls I've never seen anything like it before.  I'll have to file that treatment away on my internal hard disk (brain) and try it out on one of my new cities.  I don't think it would work with the one I've already got started.

Well good simers, need to call it a day.  This d#@! daylight saving is for the birds  Talk to you later. :)

Keith

Meinhosen - I like your parks.  Is Ralston, KY a real city?  If so are you trying to follow its layout and zones?  How large is your city now?

It's supposed to say Phantom of the Opera, but I got tired of replopping the lot for the desired title. As for Hendrix, you can get tickets in that alley from a scalper. Of course, that theater's been closed for over 30 years...

Excellent thread, glad I stopped by.....couple of questions first...

1.  Eddie, I don't think I have seen that theater before, where is it from...

2. Masochist, love that white sand beach...is it mod?

This is my current project ..... just now in the planning stages...I am using Habs incredible map of Kimbasket Lake in British Columbia.... with no God mode changes except for adding trees and building volcanic islands in the open sea areas (I like playing with volcanoes)(Children...please don't do this at home...we are experts)....

am planning on starting with just a few scattered villages ...fishing and ag, that arn't even connected....then slowly building up the other areas...trying to maintain the feel of the ...hmm...pristine land..  hopefull that will work....kind of daunting cause never worked on an area this large before....9x9 large cities...
Sometimes I go into my own little world....but it's ok, they know me there.
