Dirt/Grass Rail Lots and specific flora

I'm trying to find the dirt/grass lots next to the rail line that are used to remove the jagged rail dirt:



In addition, I've been searching tirelessly for this scrubby, underbrush plant that I used to have. You can see it among the rocks in the following picture:
