Wow, Andreas, I guess I must confess that I love you! Ahm... I... I... I mean I love your work  $%Grinno$%

memo

Ha, I too, lol... $%Grinno$% well, I'm really impressed Andreas.

Andreas

Oh no, two guys fell in love with me!  ???

Thanks for the compliments, though. ;)

Heh, Andreas- "Upcoming BATs and lots" is way too modest.  The "SFBT Candy Store" would be more like it.  I think, more than about any other team, SFBT has been methodically and regularly been filling all those "I wish someone would..." holes in the game.

This is one person's "thank you" for that.  I can't wait to see what lies in store.

Infact I have no clue myself, what this escaping thingy in my avatar is. I hijacked it (the ava, not that thingy  $%Grinno$% ) from a friend of mine some time ago... I would guess it's a pig  ;D

This is great! The rural textures (like grass or the alternative set) always look stupid in cities, and the concrete ones are useless outside the city boundaries. How do they behave with multiple tracks though? Like six double tracks together, if I feel like recreating my local central station?

Well, usually, the inner tracks won't get a base texture, since they don't touch any zones or lots, but there is an interesting behavior in the zoning tool that might provide a workaround. If you press the [CTRL] key ([STRG] on German keyboards) and zone "across" the rail line (starting on the tiles to the left, across the rails, and up to the tiles on the right, it will get a base texture (works for roads as well, I might add). So if you lay down the middle tracks first and then use this trick, they might get a texture which will stay if you add the outer tracks. It requires a bit of experimentation, but I had some success in trying this technique.

if i may be a n00b and ask what is the [strg] key...... nope no need... its the control key [ctrl] thankyou for sharing that with us... i never knew.. and know i know the german word for steer/control. you know what they say: you learn something new every day.

Oops, sorry. &ops I forgot that the [CTRL] key is labeled [STRG] on German keyboards. So yes, I mean [CTRL].

I've even seen zone transforms by holding the CNTRL key and zoning across things.. the zone won't "make" since it can't zone tracks or roads into a "cntrl zone", but it will "shift" the zone status anyways.. You can zone different densities too.. sometimes that will change things.. I've never experimented to see what the real bounds and limits of this are.

And this same trick can actually be used to provide power to isolated buildings without those unsightly power lines.

Well, I guess it's time to update this thread again, since there are quite a few new items in the works. :)

Khiyana has been working on a modular parking lot set, which might serve well as "Park & Ride" facility for the new NAM "P" Traffic Plugins. All parking lots work like the in-game parking garage, but an eye-candy version will be available as well.

"Modular" also means that you can select the style of trees that will appear on the lots; they are using the prop families from my Street Tree Mod, so you can either have the Maxis decidous trees, pine trees or palm trees, Cycledogg's deciduous trees, ponderosa pines or shore pines, or PEG's MTP pine trees. Furthermore, there are style plugins for the Maxis sidewalks, as well as Jeronij's and the SMP sidewalk mod.

There are special corner lots that will hide the grass with an overhanging prop. Also included is a modern style bus station, and a modern bike rack in the same design. Both will go well with the parking lots, as you can see in the pics above.

Mathe Man created some nice looking soundwalls, as they are very common in Germany. The set currently includes 22 different lots, which can be divided into a base set of about 10 lots, and an extended set that feature more options, such as curve lots, offset diagonals etc. (the offset diagonals are not included in the preview pic yet). An MML Mod will be included as well.

The soundwall lots also feature the modular tree prop families, so you can select the style(s) you like best. A special mod that will remove all props apart from the walls will be included as well, so you can use your favorite ploppable flora to spice up the lots.

Andreas

Thanks, Pat!

Here's some more stuff that is currently in the works:

royal has BATted a lovely train station, after the station in Ahrweiler, Germany, a small town near Bonn. The platforms have been used for a smaller train stop as well. The stats are comparable to the Maxis train station, only the Ahrweiler station has a higher capacity because of the larger building and lot. If you look closer, you'll also notice royal's signal props, which will be available in a prop pack soon.

Chrisim has not only created new items for the GLR-in-Avenue puzzle pieces of the NAM, but also extended the BSC SFBT GLR Tram Mod stations for those new items. There are two new stations for both GLR-in-Avenue and the GLR-in-Avenue roundabout, as usual in four different color variants.
