SMP Sandstone Rail Textures
« on: June 01, 2010, 12:24:55 AM »
I really like the sandstone mod for my streets but appearently a rail texture was included in it that is brighter than normal. The weird thing is that it appears on my farm roads and STR lines but not on dual-track lines. ??? I am using the SFBT rail textures so I assume that that mod changes the textures under rails to another texture. What I would like to do is remove the texture in the file, but I'm not sure exactly how to do so. Do I just need to remove the texture file from the dat? On another note, I noticed that the download on the LEX is locked. Is there something wrong with it? ()testing()

Edit: Just to save making another topic, do I still need the orginal Rail Texture mod to keep the grass underneath or will the textures included with the NAM do that?

Part of the sfbt mod adds wealth textures to the rail network. so say road and avenue have the second last id 0-1-2-3, and maxis shipped rail with just 0. this accounts for why the "dirt" texture is not shown and str has no sfbt textures.

the nam from what i recall only contains the 0 level textures, so no grass :thumbsup:

a pic would help :P

I know that's there is a set of textures in the Sandstone mod .dat that replaces the orginal dirt texture. Is it okay to just delete those? And thanks for the info about the Rail texture mod.

What I would do is download the SFBT mod off the LEX, it's in the Transport- Rail section, and replaces the dirt with grass, or you can go over to SimPeg and download Swamper's No Dirt mod.

Ethan :)

Uh thanks for trying help but I already solved the problem. Sorry I wasn't a little bit clearer but I was wondering if it would be safe to remove textures from a mod. I tried and considering my computer hasn't caught on fire yet, I'd say it works. Now for another question, is it possible to get grass and/or wealth textures on a STR?

@ecoba:
Thank you for the suggestion but I already have that. It's actually what I'm posting about. :D
