Wonderful work on the A12 and surrounding area. :thumbsup:

Today, the southern ring road Vugt officially opened for traffic. Parts of this road already existed but had only 2x1 lanes. Now is the busy part converted to 2x2 lanes. The new 2x1 lane section is preparing for a future expansion to 2x2 lanes.

We start at the junction of the A27 Vught.

On the edge of the city's farmland converted to an office district.

We arrive at a busy intersection. With some imagination you can see that there is areas here for an junction construction.

One reason for the southern ring road was to build the new residential area. The road that you see is a diversion of the old route through the center of Vught.

The continuation of the southern ring road. The areas reservation is clearly visible.

Now we come to a part of the road that already existed. Here is the updated and marking the intersections converted to roundabouts in the "Sustainable Safety principle". The road connects to the A261.

An overview of the southern ring road Vught.

The next update there will be more of Vught self to seen. This city is building its first light rail line. This new line connects De Dieze and Vught has the required structures.

That's it for this time comments are always welcome!

Nice update! I really like that modern building in the 5th picture--can I ask where you found it? Look forward to seeing how the ring-road turns out  :thumbsup:

Good job. I'm curious how the light rail will turn out.

Today we look at the new light rail in Vught. The new line is linked to the existing light rail network of the De Dieze. The channel between the De Dieze and Vught had to be bridged. The construction of the light rail connection has been a disaster. The budget was exceeded by 80%. Vught had more light rail connections planned. The implementation of these plans is under heavy pressure.

The extension begins with the ride of the De Dieze alongside the A9.

The new light rail does not come in the new residential area (on the right)

The light rail goes right through the 80s neighborhood. The streets are completely redesigned for this.

The neighborhood still has many abandonment and criminality. It wast thought that better road network and better public transport access could get against this.

The university hospital could grow by building the light rail. From here the light rail goes below the ground.

The Stationsplein was completely rebuilt. Here is an underground station built for the light rail. There is a bus station building and the parking lots are redeveloped. When more light rail lines will be built we will make and underground parking garage.

The temporary end of the light rail.

That leaves only the overview yet.

And a old overview of Vught before the construction of the ring road and the A27.

Comments are always welcome, thanks for the responses to the last update!

Great work on the last update; some familiar buildings being used in a different way there! Always good to see!

It's humbling to see that not every project works out well.  /wrrd%&

The A261 / N261 has in recent years taken an increasingly important role on the main roads network. The direct surroundings of the road changes significantly there. There are many homes and businesses built. The construction of the A9 resulted in an increase in traffic on these routes. The A9 is a busy motorway, which last for a small part is widened to 2x3 lanes. The A261 / N261 forms an important link in the network and should be also be well established.

The current A261 / N261 has a lot to do with traffic jams, especially at the southern part of "The Dieze". This section should be at least be widened to 2x3 lanes. The nodes need to be converted for a better traffic flow. The Minister of Transport has decided that the entire A261 / N261 will be converted to a motorway named A26. The busiest parts of the motorway will be expanded to 2x3 lanes.

A part of the work has already started. We look at the beginning of the N261 the connection with the A2. The traffic lights will be removed here. There will be here a split level junction with the A2.

A new junction created.

Work on the 2x4 lanes viaduct.

The tunnel is too small for 2x3 lanes. There will be a tunnel built with larger slopes.

The new A26 will sometimes follow a new route. Similarly here, the current ramp will removed. A year ago, opened here the third lane build between two busy junctions. A conversion to 2x4 lanes for this section is investigated.

The file causing of the route is this small 2x2 section.

This junction will also be demolished. To make room for the junction with the A9.

The current node with the A9. Filled with obstacles that do not facilitate the traffic flow.

Here is also last year a third lane build between two busy junctions . This section will be rebuild again and converted to 2x4 lanes.

This junction is also tackled here will build a compact node.

These were the main plans of the A26 and A9. The N261 is barely 15 years ago converted from 2x1 lanes to 2x2 lanes. There are still picture of the old situation of the N261 in this thread, see this link: http://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=10855.msg344888#msg344888

That's all for now, I will keep you informed about the construction!

In the previous update we explained the plans now we come to the first realization, the expansion of the A9.

Work at the junction with the A261. Here are connecting curves realized in the main directions.

The A9 has now 2x4 lanes from the interchange.

Overview of the node in construction.

The busiest connection has been converted into a node. In the old situation were a lot files for the traffic lights.

The road will soon come to a crossroads. The main road at this intersection will soon be built into a tunnel. These activities are collectively picked up with the doubling of the railway.

That's it for this update, I'll keep you informed of construction activities.

Great junction reconfig!

Although, what has happened to the bridges going across the river? Is there a new road/junction for that traffic?

There was no bridges here, the fist pictures of this update is about a other junction. Here a picture of the old situation:

I am in awe at your transport network! I'm terrible at road planning and have no idea how to use Tuleps, RHW, etc. so hats off to you sir!

The construction works on the widening and reconstruction of the A261 / N261 are ready. The road is now completely renumbered to A26. The new road number shows that it is not longer a provenience motorway. The A26 motorway is part the main road network.

Which works are implemented in this project?
- New junction of the A2, 2x3 lanes (junction of whit parallel structure 2-3 x 3-2);
- A26 from 2x2 lanes to 2x3 lanes wide, at the southern part of De Dieze;
- Two new connections to the motorway
- New junction of the A9, the A9 has been widened to 2x4 lanes;
- New junction of the city ring road of the De Dieze (seen in the last update);
- Various viaducts tunnels have been replaced or built;
- Railway expansion, duplication of the existing track;
- Redesign of several roads.

We start with the A2. The A2 has recently expanded to 2x3, this was not possible on the old route. The A2 is now following a different route, you see the curve of the rearranged A2. Here begins the parralelstructuur of the junction with the A26.

The surroundings had many objections to the construction of the node. The companies were afraid to lose the direct connections to the motorways . In order to understand this problem is an viaduct built for the underlying road network.

Yeah wait for the new NAM for a better connection here, the first 2x5 is coming!

The A26 on the right.

More than enough signs?

And an overview of the new junction.

The A26 is still not over the entire southern section expanded to 2x3 lanes. There is a viaduct that needs to be modified to 2x4 lanes.

Here was a small tunnel, where was no enough space for 2x3 lanes. The tunnel demolished and there is an open structure made.

From here is the A26 extended to 2x3 lanes.

Here was formerly a junction, the road is something diverted to get a lesser curvy route.

And an overview of this road section of the A26.

In the next update we look at the remainder of the route including the junction with the A9. That was the comments are always welcome!

Paul 999

Today we look at Part 2 of the conversion of the A26.

Here was a small and tight junction structure. The new format is better for traffic flow and has space for 2x3 lanes of the A26.

Aqueduct for a underlying road network, the narrow bridge over the canal has been demolished.

Then we arrive at the junction with the A9. This major roads cross each other different level.

The turbo-roundabout is a lot calmer. In the old situation was all the traffic going over this roundabout.

An overview of the new junction of the A26 to the A9.

In the next update we will look at the train tracks doubling

That's all for now, comments are welcome!
