Congratulations - another week at number one on BTT. I chose that amazing beach scene for the background this week.

I love the little "trench" for the crane, it's a neat addition. I also love how you've laid out those MMPs, great job; looks realistic, and I must say I love that crane. ;)

I cannot put any special detail ... The scenery seems to be all of a piece!

For the rest ... it's a touching honor :)

Ile aux Oiseaux - PART III

Today we visit "Cape East"..

The small Signal Tower..

A problem of the island - with the flood, garbage washed up on the beaches. Hard work for the National Park Authority...

The 4th May 2002, a black day in the history of the island. The tanker "Erika" ran aground in a storm and through a leak flowed 20,000 tons of heavy fuel oil into the sea. For the bird life it was a disaster - thousands of birds have died in heavy oil. It took years to clean the beaches.

10 years later, the wreck is still on the beach - by a lack of infrastructure on the island it is almost impossible to salvage the wreck with heavy machinery. The recovery is very expensive and consuming..

As a farewall to "Ile aux Oiseaux"

A Mosaic :)

Great pictures (do I need to say that everytime?  :D ) and interesting read. I like all the little stories you invent.
My name is Raphael.

Wow Franky, with this island you excel yourself with every update ... The idea and the setting of the wrecked ship and the scenery with the floating refuse is brilliant!

Best wishes, Theresa
