Hi everybody

Would love to see pictures of what people thinks a typical powerplant looks like.

Will start by posting some you might have seen in my batting thread; Swan Mill Power Plant:

Dieselhouse at H. C. Ørstedværket

Svanemølleværket / Swan Mill Power Plant.

Especially smaller plant, or plants that can be downscaled like the Dieselhouse would be of interest.

I've been in the MAN Diesel House. I enjoyed it alot, especially the exhibition about MAN's past. It's a shame it's located on the end of a labyrinth, hardly anyone visits it. &mmm

I don't know of any power plants located near my city, the closest one I can think of is the Maritsa - Iztok one. It's located about 250 km from my home city and, according to wikipedia, it's the largest power plant complex in the Balkan peninsula.

Visit my MD, The region of Pirgos!

Here's one of the few nuke plants we have in this state:

Find my power line BAT thread here.
Check out the Noro Cooperative.  What are you waiting for?  It even has electricity.
Want more? Try here.  For even more electrical goodies, look here.
Here are some rural power lines.

When I was building power plant in simcity I was inspired by Bełchatów power plant. Its fuel is brown coal, and it's the largest thermal power plant in Europe.

There is also mine nearby, as near other plants with brown coal as fuel.

Thank you for visiting Kolbrów, and for being for last ten years!

Here is one in Greece:

Click on the image to visit the Panoramio page (click again to see a bigger pic - contains a small map of the area too). More pics in Google Earth. There are more PPs in the area.

Other pics here.

Yet more ones here.

Couldn't find a proper pic of a typical small diesel plant though. There are many small diesel plants in the islands, but they are rather indifferent, architecturally.

Here is a few I found searching myself.

New York:

The Con Edison Power Plant. What a monster.

Another one that I think is from New York or New Jersey.

Chicago

Safe Harbor Dam Power House, Lancaster, Pennsylvania

Venice Power Plant, St louis, Illinois.

Lansing Board of Water and Light, Lansing, Michigan

They all have some sort of vertical lines going. Might use some of those elements.
Would love to see some more pictures.
