Thanks PaPa-J!

And another bat for the pile:

Nothing like the daggy 70s horrors....it's suitable as a W2W corner or standalone.

Tyberius06

Hi!

Really nice stuffs are here, Matt!  &apls &apls
I love these mid-rise w2w compatible buildings. I wish we would have more modern w2w rows.

Thanks for making them!

okay... stopped lurking about to cime in...

last few models are wonderful...

especially like the generic but neat office building... that is where my business for health insurance "build your own coverage"  would head quarter....   ::) :)

this latest one would also act as civics or city annex for its bureaucratic beauty...

like whats been cooking of late... keep it up  &apls

hoping a plan B will come to light to keep your software and finish college with...  "$Deal"$

take care from the frozen tundra -even if they didnt make the play offs... &mmm

okay back to lunch and lurking through knot holes...

Holy crap, I come back from Christmas thinking maybe a few of the backlog FA bats might be released but reality manages to be a very pleasant surprise! My sincerest thanks :)

Really glad to hear your optimism for your 3DS possibilities, rather less so wrt the impending 2020 disaster. Fingers crossed for a Blender solution (or even sketchup), though nothing I've read before made that sound particularly probable.

Really like the new projects  &apls Presumably you're aware of the roundabout possibilities of the latest and the FA options for the one that I didn't think was so soulless, opposite the National Geographic building. The nightlights are indeed very attractive; I feel like a mosquito drawn to a bug-zapper in that regard. I might suggest leaving a few windows dark in future but certainly for where I'm at in the world any non-abandoned office building would look that lit up at both morning and afternoon commuting times in the dead of winter ;)

mattb325

Thanks all for the nice comments.

So, I got 3dsMax 2017 working. There's 6 hours of downloading, tweaking and fiddling around that I'll never get back. Thank goodness it was a dreary wet day perfect for flicking between progress bars and netflix

That means you are all stuck with me for a little while longer...I'm sure some are feeling mightily miffed at that news having wagered on my taking a forced early retirement from the community  :D.

Though I must say that I really dislike the new interface of 2017...it's clunky and awkward compared to previous incarnations, but I merged and rendered the PWN building from the last page and it is a little quicker than 2014, so swings and roundabouts, I guess.

I'll try a new bat from scratch next week after another small holiday (it is summer here after all  :P ), but I'm sure it will be fine.

In the mean time, I packaged up the Urban FAR-3 hospital in between downloading and opening/closing/swearing at/drinking beers/rendering in the new 3dsMax.

Hi Matt!

Good news! :) Thanks for releasing the hospital. Awesome model! These FAR options are really nice!

Sounds like the news about the retirement of our most prolific BATter had been greatly exaggerated  :P
About the summer thing, how is that going there? I've read some daunting news about heat waves and the local fauna. Here, as always, things are more moderated, but we have already had some wildfires.Anyway...
Gods of the 3D! I love that hospital building of yours! Specially the way you played with the windows' shapes.

@ mattb325: - you're an institution here, another bat - masterly made and needed in the game, great recognition

@ Kitsune:
Summer? But not like last year, in my city and region, 7 months without rain, terrible ... Last night -6 (C), it's good in our winter  ;)
Sorry guys, I'll be here next week, so good luck!

Simmer2

O' Matt

I can't picture you sitting on a park bench at the back of a retirement home, feeding pigeons... :D Nah, I'm glad you are in for another round of goodies

Great work on that H btw!

Sounds like music to my ears.

If SC4 was a planet on his orbit around the sun – without any doubt you'd be one of those essential forces to keep the planet going round.

Hi Matt ,

Good news indeed ,  and thanks for that new batch of sexy BATs since my last comment  &apls ... summer breaks are highly understandable and deserved . Even if I wasn't at work during that period  , I don't think I would stay  inside , seated  in front of a computer either ...  $%Grinno$% :P

Hurrah! This is excellent news <3

And god, I feel you about the heat -- it's gonna be something like 45 degrees here in Melbourne on Friday....

mattb325

Thanks guys

Summer certainly has been hot here (where I spend most of my time has largely been spared the extraordinary heat of the rest of the continent, so it seems like a total whinge to complain about days - record breaking or not - of approx 30C/85F, especially when combined with ample rainfall that the Sydney area has received). In fact because the summer is so much warmer than normal here (normal = approx 20C/68F), all of the trees that I have planted have put on exceptional growth and will give shade from subsequent summers much quicker thanks to this hot summer.

Quite a few pics to show. 2017, while a bit clunky, renders transparent materials far more quickly than 2014.

Also, after almost every upload I have ever made, someone asks me to make a casino  ()what() It's been going on for years. Given the improved rendering time, I thought what the hell.... $%Grinno$% Note: incessant badgering does not normally get you a request filled  :D

I just wanted to make a building that I could use the Maxis casino lights with. So it's nothing exciting....

I also made a tropical version of the lot:

One thing that's lacking in SC4 is a "food court".
Blech....but gotta keep those fat sims unhealthy, I guess.

Another random pile from my imagination:

And....just like the last time I installed a new 3dsMax (post grad studies never end  ::) ) I made the old Selby Shoe Factory to test that it worked, this time I made another old building as a quick test:

I don't know why I make old buildings whenever I install a new 3dsMax, but there you have it. Available here:

from fence lurking to fence sitting... whatcha doing %confuso

really really like the latest series...especially the concrete or stone office structure... I'd lease it for my insurance company...

as far as badgering goes to pun on the yoke of it I am still with a complete U of Clayhurst...  ;D
:)
a papermill and operations... and afew industrial park type buildings for industries not covered in the game... such as teh timer/paper industry... and then a headquaters for my Blackcraft Aircraft Production... okay badgered enough yet?  ??? how about a modern muesuem that has an older addition  ::) to it for its arts and history of sc4deluxe...

okay take have fun in teh 85*f as its zero and lower here plus winds...

Tyberius06

Hi there!

Wooow! These are awesome stuffs, I specially like the Casino and the office building (similiar modern looking style, but would be possible (in the future if you are in the mood) a more w2w compatible corner or part of a w2w row building with similar dimensions?), but the food court is a lovely creation as well. And thanks for the little test building, w2w stuffs old or new/modern can come at anytime! :)
Thanks for making them!

I'm loving the variety of unhealthiness on the first two buildings!
The office one is simply wonderful, but I guess it won't be that easy to locate; as Tibi, I'm mainly working with W2W buildings, but is a matter of time :p

The Casino looks Stunning as well as the other buildings.  Thanks for sharing the old one.
Lighten up, just enjoy life,
smile more, laugh more,
and don't get so worked up
about things.

art128

I'm probably not gonna use the casino, although i do respect it as a BAT, stunning.

The two other modern buildings are brilliant as well, specially the "Another random pile from my imagination" office block. Would definitely reserve a place for that one. :)
I'll take a quiet life... A handshake of carbon monoxide.

The nightlights on that casino are awesome!

Well done
