Title: About RTMT and the RTMT Place
Post by: z on September 08, 2008, 08:33:15 PM
Welcome to the RTMT Place!

This board is dedicated to everything concerning Road Top Mass Transit, including what it is, how to use it, what future plans for it are, etc.  Participation is encouraged on all levels, including making suggestions, contributing to RTMT, testing new versions of RTMT, or joining the RTMT Team.  (A separate thread below has more details on this last option.)  The RTMT Place is also the place to come with all questions about RTMT.

What is RTMT?

Road Top Mass Transit is just what it says it is.  It's mass transit stations that are directly situated on a road surface, instead of one or more separate squares.  You have undoubtedly noticed that the standard bus and subway stations that come with the game are disproportionately large.  (It's no exaggeration to say that they're as big as a house!)  In contrast, RTMT stations are built to the scale of the game, and therefore can easily fit on the side of a road.  For those people who want their cities and towns to look as realistic as possible, this is extremely helpful.

Why Use RTMT Stations?

Here is a brief summary of the main advantages of using RTMT stations:

About RTMT

The first two versions of RTMT were created by Darkmatter, Teirusu and CJMarshall (CJM).  Cogeo took up the project from here, and made extensive improvements and additions in versions 3.00 and 3.50; at this point, the current RTMT is largely his work.  The two editions of the current version 3.50 of this package (EXE and ZIP) have well over 30,000 downloads on the STEX; they were later made available here on the LEX, and you can get the EXE package (easier to install) here (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=1057) and the ZIP version (useful for advanced users) here (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=1058).  Cogeo has branched out into other areas of SC4 development, and unfortunately no longer has time to continue working on RTMT.  I volunteered to take over the development and maintenance of this project, and he has handed it off to me.  Thus the initiation of this board, and the new developments that will be coming.  Keep an eye out here to see what we're up to, and don't hesitate to contribute or make suggestions.
