Application loads correctly, but attempting to access any menu item with a drop down list results in this dialogue box:

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Searched all over the place for an answer, and nothing I tried worked.

Did you try this?

Quote from: AndreasRight-click the destop icon/start menu entry for SC4Tool, select "properties" and then check "Desktop Composition" on the "Compatibility" tab. Then the menus should work as desired.

Thanks for the response...

There is a "Disable Desktop Composition" option on the compatibility tab. Whether that's checked or not as no effect on the menus.

Andreas

Not quite sure what might cause the problem... It works for me with just that one setting, but you can also try to set the compatibility to Windows XP SP3, and/or try to run the program as administrator. Also, make sure that you have the .NET Framework installed correctly.

That's the thing. I've been using SC4 Tool for a while, so I know .NET Framework installed correctly, but now all of a sudden I get this message? I downloaded the .Net Framework verification tool via Microsoft last night, and everything checks out fine according to the tool.

Andreas

Maybe some Windows Update broke something if it was working fine until now? You could also try to reinstall .NET and SC4Tool again, just to be sure.
Andreas

medit84truth

Tried that as well, to no avail.

Andreas

Did you chance anything else before you got the error message for the first time? Maybe updated your graphics driver or something?
Andreas

It's been a few months since I've used SC4 Tool, but other than Windows updates, and a few applications here and there, I haven't performed any system changes like that.
