I love everything so far! &apls
The map, the river, the damn.....everything!  I'm just not too sure about the edge of the lakes and rivers, but it still looks good, just not sure about it.
It seems to me that you have used every square inch with something useful, whether it be buildings or trees.
I'm coming back here for more as soon as you post your next update.

Update 2.0

Monea
- Small town through the ages -

-------------------------------------

Number of inhabitants:
~4.500

Position: Frontier town at the arm of the Eyre River, in the southeast of the principality in the Arrondissement Eyre

Foundation: 1634 as the Huguenot Village "Mona"
1685 expulsion of all Huguenots from "Mona" by the catholic clergy
1850 foundation of the city of Monea, in 1910 Huguenot (Protestants) settle for the first time again, mainly farmers

Places of interest: The ruins of the village Mona
Reformed church of Monea

City coats of arms:

----------------------------------------------

As usual, we begin our trip, from above
2.1 - 2.2

An arm of the Eyre, which dries up half during the summer and only reaches its full length in the winter. In rainy years there are occasionally floodings in the backland. The arm of the river is forced into a small river bed by the natural elevation of the village "Mona"

2.3 - 2.6

My mate Fluggi with his tent
2.7

The Huguenot village "Mona", located on an elevation in an arm of the Eyre.
The 120 inhabitants were expelled in 1685 by the catholc clergy
The village was burned down. The village church burned down to the foundation walls, too.

2.8

Today, the area is cultivated by the reformed church of "Monea"

2.9 - 2.10

The ruins of the former village church from "Mona"
2.11

The forest stage of Mona, a popular place for cultural arrangements

2.12

This tower was build in the bloom of the prince of Bordeaux in 1823 and was used as shelter during the chase in the near national park.
Today the tower belongs to the prince's endowment, exactly like the Medieval cloister in Castandet

2.13

One of the ranger stations in the national park

2.14

The court of the family Lemac, one of the oldest families in Monea

2.15

Become rich through trade in cereals and potatoes

2.16 - 2.18

The court of the family Hobre, a small family company

2.19

A typical cattle fattening farm
2.20

In the village Mautans live the family Cazaux and the family Lapane

2.21 - 2.22

typical farms
2.23 - 2.25

Who does not love this, fresh strawberries directly from the field
2.26

This tunnel was donated by the rambling club Rondnoir
2.27

And now we visit Monea
2.28

The reformed church of Monea was build between 1870 and 1881 and restructured in 1996.
In front of the church, you can see the old city gate from 1850. The city wall was destroyed in 1905 during the second big city fire, only the massive gate was left over.
The ruins of the city wall were carried away by citizens bit by bit.
Today the gate is under monument protection but sadly the plans for a complete restauration are still missing.

2.29

A popular place for wedding photos
2.30

The railway station of Monea
2.31 - 2.33

The elementary school of Monea and reform. Cemetery (in one picture)
2.34

A few more city impressions
2.35 - 2.37

The mill of Mona, a corporate run company
2.38 - 2.39

And finally one more railway picture
2.40

I'm looking forward to my new project, "Mios"

The next big update will surely appear by the end of summer. Until then I will only be posting pics from time to time. The new map is much larger.

I'm a fan.  The winding road is very well done.  The rocky shores are also good looking.  I can't really find anything to criticize, but we all know that there is no such thing as perfect, so I'm gonna say that I don't like the colour of the water.  Grin No  It seems a tad bit off.  Don't take it too hard though.  You still get top marks. Cheesy

Yeah right...nothing is perfect &mmm

Holy crap! This is awesome!

I need to collect my jaw from the floor. You really bring the ploppable stuff to a whole new level. I couldn't spot a single empty tile.

Very nice.  I particularly like the marketplace by the church.  It kind of reminds me of the German city Aschaffenburg where they put a road underground for a few hundred feet so they could build a vast plaza or marketplace in front of the castle.  It also helps that you placed lots of people, which gives it that bustling "pedestrian zone" look.  The train station looks very modern, how old is the town in general?  You pay a lot of attention to detail, for example I noticed that you use those concrete poles with chains to separate the road from the pedestrian area to discourage pedestrians from crossing in areas where there is no crosswalk.  I wish the traffic engineers here in the states would buy into those things, but as long as we cling to our on-street parking, it can't really be implemented effectively.

kwakelaar

Always very nice to see someone putting a lot of work and thought into a new MD. When the images are also not quite like anything I have seen before, it becomes very interesting to follow.
Both your natural landscape and built up areas are very well done.

how could I have missed this? Your rural environments, as well as cities look convincing enough to be real, and that, in my view, is wat makes an MD truely awsome.

That was a huge update, and I greatly enjoyed getting to know Monea. You certainly left no detail for the imagination - everything was accounted for!

The picture of the old church ruins and its surroundings was simply stunning! I cant wait for the next update :)

Wow, very detail and texture rich region!  I tried to use a more texture rich terrain and tree controller but wasn't too pleased with it, but it always looks great in other people's cities! :D

Simply sensational!!!!!  &apls &apls &apls

Can you tell me which railroad mod you're using that provides the grey embankment for the rail tracks?

If it's a good idea, go ahead and do it. It's much easier to apologize than it is to get permission.
