Lot Description:
Mattb325 Regency Terrace A set of 4 growable R$$ terraced houses. There are two lot sizes and two different models; one cream and one blue (pictured). The Regency Architectural style (named after the Prince Regent) was popular from 1800 - 1830 in Britain and these terraces are modelled from a row on Hollis Park in inner-city Sydney and date from about 1850. Similar examples also exist at Millers Point and Haymarket. Characteristics of the Regency style include a massing of decorative features steeped in classism such as overscaled columns and porticos. Possibly the best known architect of this period was John Nash who designed Brighton Pavillion, Cumberland House and Haymarket Theatre.
